How'd you do predicting WSU at the beginning of last year?

Please take a break for a while. We all don't wanna catch whatever you're coughing up.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I think WSU deserves a 1 seed as much as anybody else on this board, but nobody in their right mind believes it makes sense to seed exactly based on RPI. It is helpful, but not nearly THAT precise.

I had a bet going as to how long it would take you to distract with that half truth. I was off by 2 posts. Thought you would do it sooner.

Yes, but there are many other metrics that also support them as a No.1 seed plus anyone with two eyes and a middlin' amount of basketball IQ understands that WSU is very deserving of a #1 seed. But keep nitpicking it is obviously your life's mission.

              Yes, I did.

              This is actually very simple.

Team A won more games than Team B.
Team A played a significantly harder schedule than Team B.
Team A is better than Team B.

More wins is not enough info. A tougher SOS is not enough info. Combine the 2... yes, enough info.

              • I had hoped Utah might pull off the upset of Arizona. Not looking like it is going to happen. 32-13 right now.

What is the SOS of the games Team A and Team B actually won? Where were those games played?

Only in the last week did we move to #4 in Pomeroy. Sagarin has us at 12. Before the last game of the MVC tournament, there were as many metrics which said we weren't a 1-seed as those that did.

Fortunately, no metric is used to directly determine seeds.

And for the record, since it was brought up in this topic, Lunardi has always been a mediocre bracketologist. Having a bigger arena to play in doesn't make you a better team. A couple of years ago someone did a historical ranking of bracketologists by accuracy. Lunardi was right in the middle. I think it included somewhere around 70-80 different ones. If he were a basketball team, he'd finish around fifth in the Valley and might get an invite to the CIT.

That's crap! Everyone would finish in the Top 2 in the Valley!

                          • K State could be as low as a 11 or 12 seed. I say 10 is their highest possibility.

Not sure how much that means I have beat Lunardi every year since they started keeping track on the bracket matrix in 2006 and most years handily that makes 7 years in a row from 2006-2012 before I faltered and he tied me last year (though I still got all 68 teams right even good ole Middle Tennessee)

I also beat Jerry Palm every year from 2006-2013 except 2009 when he beat me by 5 pts.

In 2006 I actually would have been #1 overall and in 2007 #2 overall (not saying much I guess only 10-20 people were involved back then but they were all the "experts" from TV and blogs"
