Looks like I was wrong when I predicted St Louis would lose 3 of 4 to end the season...more like 4 of 4. St Louis and Cuse are examples of why you dont want teams to lose (Mitch) with long winning streaks b 4 the tourny. Hasnt done them any good, WSU loses and they could ezly go into a funk just like that. The desire to keep the streak alive is part of what makes this team great.

WSU played 12 non-conference opponents.
6 of those opponents are going to win their league, or finish 2nd (hopefully 4 wins, 2 2nds).
6 of those opponents are not. Three were gifts from the CBE (Tennessee State, DePaul, W&M). We scheduled ORU, Tennessee, and Alabama.

ORU is in a similar boat. They could actually finish as high as tied for 2nd in the Southland. That would be a stretch, but it looks like 4th place is all but locked up.
W&M has 3rd place locked up in the CAA.
DePaul and Bama are really the ones that didn't do much. The rest of the teams on our schedule are finishing very nicely. Well, and Tennessee State...
Remember how bad Tennessee State has been this year? The really neat thing about Tennessee State is that they are about to pass Loyola in the RPI :)Last edited by Dave Stalwart; March 6, 2014, 12:24 PM.

A couple of notes from Arch Madness:
Evansville might have 50 fans here if you count the pimp
Drake has around 100
After this weekend Scott Trade will be renamed Koch east.
I saw a "ShockerNation" billboard on I44 just south of downtown STL. Pretty cool.

Looks like things good go either way for Shocker opponents tonight:
Tulsa 79 @ North Texas 68 (Tulsa goes to 18-12, 13-3 C-USA)
LA-Lafayette 72 @ Western Kentucky 75 (20-10, 12-5 Sunbelt)
North Carolina Central 76 @ Norfolk State 70 (UNCC goes to 25-5, 15-1 MEAC)
ORU 70 @ Stephen F. Austin 85
Butler 79 @ DePaula 46 :disgust: How pathetic is that. It's not like they were playing Creighton or Villanova and at home no less. I doubt there were many fans in the seats to start with but it had to be a tomb in the 2nd half.Last edited by 1972Shocker; March 6, 2014, 11:17 PM.
