Creighton was very lucky. They looked very slow today. Also, Seton Hall had a great game plan. They muddied the game up played very physical. Seton Hall fouled a lot. However, the real difference in this being an extremely lucky win for Creighton and an easy Creighton win was foul shooting. Creighton missed 11 free throws. McDermott and Wragge went 1 for 4 on free throws in the last minute. I can't remember the last time I've seen a Creighton team struggle that much at the charity stripe.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
I actually went to the Creighton game this evening. When my pops called me up after I got back to discuss, the first thing I said was "Wow, Wichita State looked so much better than Creighton!" We're both Drake guys, so the comparison seemed natural. It's like night and day though...

You can't get into a shooting match with those guys. You have to be physical and athletic and not be bothered by the inevitable "3 run" that they WILL go on at some point. McBuckets is going to get his, whether he's on or not (and yes he's usually way on) but the key is MAKING them play defense. Take the fight to them and don't let them be comfortable. Seton Hall does a great job of that. Personally, I also think it's a huge mistake NOT to press them, but best is the soft press. You have to take them out of rhythm without speeding up the game too much.
I was at the game, too. It was nice to see former Saluki Gene Teague on the floor. He takes up a ton of space and is just a solid player. If Lowery could have kept him, he would be a beast in the Valley this year.

Were you surprised as well by how dead the crowd seemed for much of the first half? It was like they only got up if it was absolutely necessary. They were certainly loud when they wanted to be, but there was no consistent home court advantage against Seton Hall.

No. I've been to every game as a season ticket holder, and it was tough to beloud in a game like that. There was little flow, the game was choppy and tons of whistles. Combine that with Creighton looking slow, aand I'm a little surprised the crowd was as loud as it was.
I probably didn't help, I don't yell. I just watch. I do stand when people in front of me stand, I never ask people to be quiet, or yell Down in front. I just like to watch sports and aren't emotionally attached, so I'm not blowing out my vocal chords. I do like a little noise, though.

CU has historically been dismal in the NCAA's. I attribute that to either of 1) They're not that good against talent or 2) Their players are worn down by the end o the season.
I'm going with #2.
The only way I want to see CU in our bracket is if they are a 4/5 seed. If they're higher than that, I don't think they can make it far enough to give us a chance to compare the two teams on the court. I'd rather play CU as a 2-seed to go to Dallas than play anyone else as a 3 seed to get to Dallas, but I doubt CU can hang in the tourney long enough for that scenario to ever occur.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Want a good laugh go over to phag.net where they are soooooo scared of getting CU in their bracket but just salivate at the thought of getting us as a #1 seed. It's like they don't even know the historical reference points in the NCAA tournament.
