TSU hangs on 66-61. Not even the jinx could derail the unstoppable Tigers.

Do you think our heart and mojo have something to do with our record now?
Look I get your point....all of this stuff matters, but you can't disregard the intangibles I listed.
Would we be one of the 25 best rebounding teams in the country without our "heart" ? Top 15 in both KenPom's offensive and defensive efficiency without our "mojo" ?
Our intangibles become a significant part of our tangible record after 28 games.
Most advanced statistical measures are extremely accurate at ranking the quality of teams.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

I feel like Im stuck on Moron Mountain here. And too boot our friend ******* is also publicly stating that BC would finish 2nd in the valley. Yes the Valley sucks but its not THAT bad.
I think they're comparable to SIU. SIU is actually competing for 3rd in the conference right now, although it's not likely they make it, so I wouldn't completely dismiss the idea that BC would finish in the top half of the conference this year.
That's pretty well backed up by advanced stats. LMRC, for instance, puts BC at #140, behind five MVC teams. Funny enough, they have SIU at #138.
The real point is that it doesn't matter WHERE Boston College would finish in the MVC. If they were 2nd or 10th, it doesn't change the fact that Syracuse LOST to them, and we did NOT lose to the "second best team in the MVC." In fact we beat them handily twice, and thumped them by 20, allowing only 48, at home. Saying they'd be one of the better teams in a conference that we're closing in on an undefeated record in is just stupid. The entire point is that no one in the MVC, except MoSt on the road, has even been close to beating us in the conference.Last edited by Rlh04d; February 20, 2014, 10:56 PM.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

JH4P stated earlier how he felt Shocker fans would be bragging about how tough the Valley is if a mediocre mid-valley team beat no.1, I think thats alittle short-sighted. The first thing I thought when B.C. beat Syracuse is that anyone can knock off anyone on a given night. The thing that was a suprise is that it happened at home. Really about the same as Evansville beating us at home last yr. Even though I feel Evansville is better or as good as BC. The problem is , is that Syracuse will be given a pass because of who they are, and if the Shocks were to lose a similar type game this year we would probably fall about 8 spots and lose a number one seed. We shouldn't be treated any different, but we most probably would. Their are some great teams in some very good leagues, and their are some great teams in a young and rebuilding league, thats us the latter. But really when you look at it all teams will eventually stumble, law of averages. The fact that we have'nt has alot more to do with who we are, not where we play.
