  • Drake is totally gassed and demonstrating one of the all-time chokes. Still up, but they got nothin'.

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

      • 64-65 with 20 seconds left. Drake with a one point lead.

        • Mitchell misses a point blank uncontested layup that would have tied it. Looks like the Drake is going to hold on and win.

It seems like this conference is doing its best to make sure we don't have any more top 100 RPI wins. First Missouri State goes down again and now Northern Iowa loses to the Drake. We just need to keep winning. I think if we can go undefeated we will get a #1 seed regardless of how few top 50 or top 100 RPI wins that we have.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

            • After Mitchell misses a layup to tie the game, DU pulls it out.

Unfortunately parity is horrible for anyone trying to get good wins to build a ncaa tournament worthy resume. It is a good thing we are undefeated and probably won't need the good wins to secure a 1 or 2 seed.

                • Another way to look at tonight, all MVC home teams won tonight. WSU has wins in each location. KU escapes on the road against a team with a sub .500 conference record.
When do Syracuse or Duke even play road games? St. Louis hasn't lost since playing WSU at home.
Road wins are underrated. Its nice to play at home unless you're playing WSU.

What this result tells me is that TTU would surely go undefeated against the Shocks schedule, amirightfellas?

                          Yup.

Didn't the MVC enter the conference season with six top 100 RPI teams ... WSU, ISUb, Illinois State, UNI, Drake, and Missouri State? Yet again the abysmal teams got it going in the conference and have dropped us down to just two top 100 teams. And ISUb's loss to SIU probably keeps them out of the top 50. Just awful.

This exactly. The poor teams in the conference have dropped everyone but us and ISUb out of the RPI top 100. If we go undefeated, it may not matter. Although if we go undefeated and don't end up with a one seed this will be why.

                              • It seems like every year people complain about 2 teams not separating from the pack, creating no chance for good wins.

It doesn't get more separated than it is this year. This is what happens when the league (1) Enters the league schedule with only 2 good teams and (2) Those two teams run away with the league while the rest of the league beats up on each other.

Once into the conference schedule, the RPI is in a bubble. It can be passed around among the teams. It can be blown around a little bit by the performance of non-conference opponents. But there isn't anything anyone can do to inject better RPI numbers into it. If the Top 2 teams run away with the league, they aren't handing out good RPI wins to the rest of the league, so the bottom of the league is going to continue to have crappy RPIs.
