  • For many, especially outsiders, you are who you appear to be unless, in the current year, you prove otherwise. They could care less that you didn't have the chance to play those "better" teams. The other problem is, you can't say they're wrong any more than you can say you're right. Our best win is to another "mid-major" team. That's the way they look at it.

For any undefeated team, being down 15 early to an Evansville, (not to mention being down to MSU by 19), is going to be news. Is this the game they lose? The fact that we outscored them 65-33 over 24+ minutes is not news. As a side note, it wasn't just EU's hot shooting early in the game. Our offense was pretty weak the first 10-12 minutes of the game. Had our offensive been playing average those minutes, there would have been no being behind by double digits.

Add to this, the difficulties many of our OOC opponents have had and playing in mid-major conference that is down this year, it's not that hard to understand why there is still doubters. While beating an underrated #1 Gonzaga last year helped lead us to a F4, it also did us a disservice. Many pundits viewed that loss by the Zags as validation that they weren't that good, losing to another "mid-major" team who didn't even win their regular season or conference tournament titles. Might mention that the Zags 2 regular season losses last year were to the highest ranked teams they faced when played, both higher than anyone we've faced and that their best win was at #22 Okie St, very comparable to our best win. The Zags also didn't take the top spot until all the other contenders had 2 more losses than they did.

We need to enjoy the ride more. This is a historical year for WSU basketball. Back to back historical years. We will have our chance this year, just like last year, and it should be a better chance.

    • Where are my peeps at defending Pittsburgh? They lose another game at home against Virginia. They absolutely CANNOT beat anybody worth a damn. They're a farce like I said they were.

But they only lost by 3.

Having scored 45 points, it may have taken them 6 minutes to score 3 points, but still, they only lost by 3.

That's an interesting team, Virginia. Brogdon is a stud. 8-1 in the ACC. 17-5 overall. Not ranked. But Pitt is.

                  • Syracuse will lose to Notre Dame.

Why? Because this is the year of the Shocker. There are a all kinds of reasons this needs to happen.

Remember Indy St has a win at ND. Think about how much that helps us if they pull it off and then we complete the sweep on the Trees this week. That would be the perfect storm. It knocks the last remaining obstacle out of our path by giving them a loss and it immediately adds a shred of additional relevance to the Valley.

That's why it will happen. I believe it will because Marshall says if I believe, it's gonna happen. :)

                    • Notre Dame is horrible but 'Cuse plays down to their competition. I hope it's at least competitive, law of averages will bite 'Cuse just like it bit Zona.
