First, Ron is from Western Kansas, and I am originally from Western Kansas, you have to know the mindsets of kids out there. He will stay in school, and continue to play. He seems to have developed a very good relationship with other players on the team, and I seriously doubt he would give up playing 2 more years with Fred for an iffy shot at this point in the NBA. I think getting his degree is a top priority with him.

Ben Smith played significant minutes too. There was also a freshman named Tekele Cotton who only got 10 minutes a game. If Ron played, who would have sat? To answer that, you have to use your thoughts from the fall of 2011 and not use 20-20 hindsight that we have now. The thought at the time was that Ron would be more productive as a fifth-year senior than a first-year freshman. Nobody knew that Ron would ball up and make it possible that we wouldn't see that fifth year.

I believe the only way he goes pro early is if there is a masked injury situation that would necessitate a move for guaranteed money versus risking the injury becoming public. No, I am not aware of this being probable.
