    Darius Carter

So you folks making comments on Darius Carter's shooting apparently missed the game with BYU last night. It was Carter's jump shot 1:30 left that made the score 68-61 in favor of WSU. He also made 3 of 4 free throws coming down the stretch. I'm sure this has to give him some confidence going forward.

Count me on the Darius Carter bandwagon. But that wasn't a jump shot, it was a layup. He's probably shooting 50% in moves that involve going TO the basket. The hook and jump shots need to be put away until we're up 25 on somebody and he has time to get comfortable with them in a game. Stick to put-backs and attacking the rim for now.

It was a layup and a very nice one. Drove his man all the way from the 3 point line and finished at the basket. He clearly has talent, he has just been rushing things thus far. There are signs that he is settling in a bit and if he follows the usual JUCO progression he should be solid by the time conference play roles around.

He will be fine as will KC and CL. They are "getting it" more and more every game. Their intensity picked up quite a bit over the weekend; wonder if there was an X-factor involved?

Darius had 9 ponts, 5 rebounds and 1 block last night in 20+ minutes. Those numbers are comparable to what Carl Hall did in the early games of his juco transition. His shooting percentages from the field and from the FT line could be better, but he is on the verge of blowing up... Don't know when, but it will be sooner rather than later.

What you are going to see in the near future is Darius as our new Carl Hall, Kadeem as our new EO (only better), and CJ as our bonus big...

                LOL

Actually I made this picture 2 or 3 seasons ago and never posted it anywhere, so you are seeing an old lineup.

Mr. Baker did comment on how Mr. Carter was his favorite player during summer scrimmages if I do reflect correctly. It's just a matter of time with Carter. he IS a playa but Juco ball is not Shocker Basketball. As good as Rags was, it took a spell to find his niche here. Wiggins seems to have turned a big corner for us this Season as well. It's all good. Let's peak at the Lew but then evolve to our black and yellow culmination in April.

Always remember we witnessed our bright future after the Louisville game when 'Fred VanClutch VanVleet' and 'Baker the net shaker, the 11-11 throw maker' were embraced and walking toward more future Shocker wins for the future which is now.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Austin got the flagrant foul for elbowing Baker under the basket with about a minute left. He approached the Wichita State star in the tunnel outside the locker room after the game and apologized.
                      And heres what happened.

Darius just needs to focus on rebounding, put backs and passing the ball out of the post for now. That's how Carl made his living his first year. I don't think Carl took a shot outside 3 feet his junior year.

You guys are right and I'll step back from the ledge. I did notice that he had a much better game last night and I suppose I'm in that "I WANT IT RIGHT NOW" mode.

Ron is obviously a tough guy but man he has taken a lot of shots to the head through 7 games. That one last night could have done serious damage. Do we still have any football helmets from long ago?

It does warm my cockles to see all these pundits recognize that the kid has a high level all around game.

One of my buds spoke with some scouts. He inquired what their impressions of CE were, one scout said you think that's why we are here but they were also evaluating RB very heavily as well - PG in the NBA potential. Thoughts?
