If they call, play them and destroy them.

We have nothing to gain playing Kitten State. KU's fanbase wouldn't be able to handle a loss to us so they just laugh it off and try and forget about it

That's it right there. If they call, we play. As long as it's a 1-1. None of that 2-1 or 3-1 BS. And then as ShockerPrez said; "DESTROY THEM".
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

I like the idea of a long term deal. If they want to play us, sign a home and home deal to last 20 years, then after KU and KSU have gone through a few coaches, the new guys will be used to playing the game and just schedule it from then on.

If they want to play us now when it's convenient for them, they have to be willing to schedule further so that it will be more convenient for us.

Otherwise, I am perfectly content playing Alabama, Tennessee, and st. Louis every year (or Oklahoma State, Mizzou, Texas, etc.).
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

              1) Take the high road? Say sure. We want to practice what we preach and have all 3 of the Kansas D-I schools play each other (even though we know that if WSU were to so little as hit a bump in the road, they'd drop us like a hot potato).

              2) Be more like they have been? No way. What's in it for us? You made your bed, so live with it. Why should we give you any kind of chance to knock us down and walk away again? We've got plenty of other quality teams and early season tournaments to play.

              3) All three schools sign a long term agreement requiring K St and KU to alternately play WSU, at Koch, every year and WSU to do the same at Manhattan and Lawrence in alternate years.

              4) Alternate between IBA and KC.

              What say ye?
None of the above. Let's go win a National Championship, and if we bump into them at the dance, so be it...

At one point it was very desirous of us to play them for RPI purposes. That problem is going away as our success will make us an attractive opponent for other high RPI teams. Play them on an even basis or not at all.

By the way, did KU buy Cox Channel 22?

Just tell them we have nothing to gain from playing them.
