Our three guards had one turnover each. Early had the other three.

If Early can take care of the ball better, we should stay consistently down in the single digits. Are we capable of going two halves without a turnover? I know there was one game a couple of years or so ago where we had zero turnovers in one half.

              • Love what I'm seeing from Cotton so far this season.

DePaul is a whole lot worse than I imagined.

                • I don't think I've seen any quotes from Oliver Purnell or any DePaul players. Isn't that a bit odd?

Apparently, DePaul basketball doesn't even rate enough space in the Chicago Tribune for the standard AP article. They got a whopping 4 paragraphs that said more about what the Shox did than what the Blue "Devils" didn't... So, I won't even bother posting the link to it...

it sucks to in Chicago if you are not a pro team or part of the Big 10...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After watching DePaul get roughed up by Wichita State, coach Oliver Purnell could only laugh when he was asked what the biggest weakness was for the so-called “mid-major” team.

“I don’t consider them a mid-major. They made it to the Final Four,” Purnell said drily. “I don’t think their size is a weakness. Right now, I’m trying to look for one.”

It may not end like that magical run a year ago. The shots may not fall like they did. The bracket may not break.

But realize this about Wichita State: This was supposed to be the year for Gregg Marshall's team.

The Shockers are better than they were a year ago at this time, and they'll probably be better in March too, and if you cannot fathom that, simply look at one result.

Wichita State beat DePaul 90-72 at the Sprint Center on Monday night in Kansas City.

A year ago, just five days earlier in the season, Wichita State beat DePaul 75-62 in Cancun.

"I think they're every bit as good," DePaul coach Oliver Purnell said.

Before Purnell could leave Monday night, he was asked what Wichita State's weakness is. Is it mid-major size?

Purnell looked like he couldn't believe what he'd just heard and followed the following statement with a certain four-letter word: "I don't consider them a mid-major. You go to a Final Four, c'mon, you're not a mid-major."

And that was in a transition year.

Did you tell him that if his son signs, that someone in the office would be happy to take Mr. McDaniel Senior on a tour of the campus and even the men's locker room where he can learn about the college basketball experience?

                            • I disagree. BYU will not shoot 50% from three against WSU. I suspect more like 30%. Their guards are good but they aren't faster than WSU's Guards and they are smaller.
