  • We played about as good as we possibly could. MB went off, PJ was awesome. I didn't like that we were out of timeouts with a minute to play but they did fight!

They sure did, losing 5 in a row.
Just shut up. We've all had enough.
What? I'm just stating facts, it's not like I'm making up crap or talkin ####. We did lose 5 in a row to finish off the season. What have I said that is not the truth.
What have you said that we didn't already know. I KNOW you knew the point I was making, and I know the point you were trying to make. Tonight is not a night to trash the effort the made TONIGHT.

A lost season to be sure, but I saw some fight out of our returning players, and we have a BUNCH of bodies coming in the next to START filling the holes. Not predicting a Valley championship, NIT bid or anything else.

But I do think we have a great deal to look forward to.

Turnovers and interior D did us in. I'm not denying that. But late in the game, close calls favored MSU. That is a fact. Whether it affected the outcome of the game or not is your opinion. I believe that it did.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

        • I too do not believe the refs cost us the game. The Shocks showed grit, guts and determination - just came up short. I am proud of them !!

I know, I know Joco. But damn if it wasn't asking for it. That last sentence was ripe for the pickin' and you know me, I couldn't resist. It was my own little way to make myself giggle after tonights baseball and basketball teams debacle.

              • Great effort from P.J., Matt, Gal and Karon. Not going to win a lot of games with absolutely no inside game. Really got our buts kicked on the inside, plus we just made to many really poor passes that were turned into easy baskets.

One thing P.J. proved is that Blake Ahearn can't come close to him as an all-around basketball player.

Hopefully, interior help is on the way next year and P.J., Matt and Sean can go out with style next year.

Kyle, Ryan and Karon gave us what they could and were a big part of the Sweet 16 success. If their careers are over, then I certainly wish them the best in all of their future endeavors.

                    • The refs did not force us to just flat out throw the ball away 2 possessions in a row when we had a 4 point lead. The refs didn't make us be 20 feet away from most of the rebound opportunities. The refs did not take away all our timeouts so our offense looked like a cluster-F on the last possession with 15 seconds.

Just dissapointment all around. Hope for next year is about all we can take away from this season. I hope that the returners remember this and learn from it.

                        Bit of an overstatement

We had a great look at the last shot, thanks to Gals playmaking ability. What more do you want?

Yep. That, and a whole book full of lessons learned for the players and the coaches... We were severely limited with front line personnel and had more than our share of injuries. Not excuses just facts. It happens. On to next year....

                        • Some of these people are not returning. I have my guesses just like you all probably do. We must become more physical. In a game where not much is called, the stronger, more physical team gains a huge advantage. I wonder also, how many blocked shots the Bears got credit for? Should have been close to double figures, and they are not that big.

We will be much bigger and much more physical next year. Where will be short is on experience on the front line.. But something tells me that we will be on the opposite side of the shot blocking thing...

                              • I am ready for next season. Honestly, if we'd have spaced our wins and losses out more evenly, we obviously all wouldn't be so disappointed. But with the way it all played out, it just makes me want to throw up thinking about it.

Thanks for the roller coaster season, it's been fun. But I want off now.
