  • St. Louis up 64-61, just under 4 left.

    • Both Tuls and Missouri State are looking like reasonably good teams. Maybe that's because neither looks very good on D.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

      • St. Louis wins 76-67 at SIU but it looks like the Bears are going to pull out the win against Tulsa. Pretty much a must have win for MSU. Up 4 with about 2 minutes to go.

        • Bears by 3 with 21 seconds left. Tulsa ball.

94-93 Bear ball with 13 seconds remaining.

I've watched a fair amount of this game. Neither team plays much D, but I like what the Bears have offensively. They will be tough to guard because a lot (most) of their guys can score.

          • Tulsa missed a tough little bunny to tie under 5 seconds. Bears can seal it with 2 FTs.

96-93 2 seconds left, Tulsa ball. MSU is crazy if they let Tulsa shoot a 3 unless it's a catch and shoot. This should be a "let them catch the ball and grab" play.

            Bears win 96-93.

            Tulsa 30-38 FTs MSU 33-49. That's ridiculous.

            • That took forever. 63 fouls and 87 free throws combined. The refs weren't even bad. Neither team could guard without fouling.

Two amd a half hour game with close to 60 fouls called. Defense played almost no factor. Drive and score. Drive and get fouled. MSU went to small lineup and that helped them catch TU.

I watched thinking how do you play defense with the the refs call the game.

                    • I'm gonna hate a lot of college basketball this year when it's all said and done.

Just totally ruining the game. Some of these players have to be thinking how can I play defense? The scoring may get higher because you're not allowed to play defense and more inclined to just sit there and make sure you don't touch a player and watch them get an uncontested layup.

                      **** the NCAA.

                        • I just can't dog on them enough, but I was watching portions of the game and noticed that there sure were a lot of people in the restrooms or at the concession stands during the Missouri State game. It was their home opener, fans had to be excited, a sellout surely is in order, afterall, Tulsa is a pretty respectable opponent and the fans in Springfield have been without basketball for months.

Attendance for the Missouri State home opener vs. decent C-USA opponent: 6,236.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Big, big game for the Trees if they are gonna live up to their at-large hopes.
