Over the score-table and through the Chuck, to Grandma's house Baker goes!!! As scary as that was, the cute 5 year old Shocker Fan still wanted to greet him. After scoring a basket, he hustled in search of a steal and was the player of the game. Such is the life of a quality young Man from Scott City that has 2-stoplights and 1-crosswalk light. Everybody in Shocker-Land luvs Ron Baker!!!Last edited by forevershockerfan; November 9, 2013, 06:54 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

We were as close to the 105 years of Shocker Basketball in total points today as ever in the Marshall era. When I watched Fred VanSmooth VanVleet and Ron "I dive over score-tables" Baker making lots of points, assists, and very few turnovers, I thought of the 'kodak moment' after the Louisville game last Season at the Final 4 when they were embraced walking together towards a bright future. Can you believe they are both only Sophs? WOW!!! Fred did some dribbling drills at a Camp I witnessed this last summer and I have never seen a Shocker that can do those dribbling drills as skillful as he did. When they both are on the floor together, you can be rest-assured that you have a dynamic-point guard-duo at work which is spooky great. Add Early who is never late to the squad along with our deep quality depth all the way up and down our bench and THAT is something to get 'ramped up' about.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Unintended consequences:
1. A surprising number of people in my section got up and left as soon as the ball was in play. Don't know if the thought of leaving had occurred to them prior to that video.
2. Visitors now have the impression that WSU's fans are prone to leave games early. Creates the impression of a very serious problem where there really isn't one. (Sort of like the Fidelity Bank ads -- only not on purpose.)
Just my opinion.“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Fred has taken over the helm of this team very nicely. Looks to lead. Still, he has an air about him that makes me believe he thinks he can score at any time necessary.
Ron understands the game. I was very happy to see him start taking the ball to the basket rather than just shoot threes.
It would have been very easy for Cle to let the off-season hype go to his head and force things. Didn't do it. He's playing within the system. Credit to him.
It's got to be tough on the inside defenders with the new emphasis on fouls. I think Kadeem, Darius and CJ could do better. I truly believe by mid-January they will have it figured out.
Derail looked so much more comfortable on the floor today. In case you missed it, he's a shooter.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

So what did we learn today?
Well, we know that this team still plays really sticky D. They are quick, athletic, fast and strong. Tremendous athletes.
Baker and Early are STUDS, all caps. Baker and VanVleet see the floor and understand the game better than anyone at WSU since......?
Our bigs need to keep working, but there is lots to work with no doubt.

Kadeem was up against a HOSS today. Not sure why ESU's #32 isn't in a D1 squad? Maybe because he's a foul machine. Huge though.
The crazy hair timeout was seriously funny, but I still feel dirty for laughing. Good thing I went to church tonight.
FVV's spin move was sweeeeeet.
Baker's play making ability is seasoned senior quality.
Cle seems to have been able exorcise his inner Jamar Howard demon -- though it hasn't been tested quite yet.
Darius had some nice minutes. Some REALLY nice minutes.
Roberts to Bush for a Shockeeeeeeerrrr ... threeee!
Derail is improving.
The backboard needs to have a crack analysis run on it after Cotton punished it with his dunk.
The production quality of our games have taken another epic leap up.Last edited by Kung Wu; November 9, 2013, 08:50 PM.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Derail Green hit 2 of 3 treys. Nice form I say. Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Dahl was comparing his shot to a former Shocker some of you will remember from many moons ago. Ron Harris, 'the thin man from Chicago' was a sharpshooter and could score the rock like a rock-star.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
