Toure is still on the roster and still stuck on the end of the bench. Barring injury, it will be very surprising if they hang onto him when January 10 rolls around since his contract is relatively expensive and he has yet to play a minute.Comment

The referenced trade rumor is speculated to take place in 2015-16 and is just that, a rumor. That article is a month old and the rumor is older.
Toure is getting paid, but it's likely he is nearing the $250k amount he was guaranteed. If he is dropped or assigned by January 10 (the date contracts lock in as guaranteed $) and has already received $250k by that date, the Jazz would owe him nothing the rest of the season.Comment
