I am not concerned about CJ's athletic ability or strength. I'm more concerned about giving up layups. The early reports this fall from the coaching staff have sounded positive in that regard, hopefully it translates to games.

We should be expecting this thing with CJ.

How many times will Marshall turn a juco into a monster in their second year before I begin to see it coming ahead of time.

Folks, if CJ is anything like EVERYONE who has gone before him, he will be good this year. Same goes for Kadeem. Both of these guys are about to place a large bag of tea on some people's foreheads.

Where is Sub. I doubt he is worried. I'm not worried.

I'm sure Sub is happy for Lufile but must be in shock.

Speaking of juco players who had monster senior years, I saw where Joe Ragland is averaging over 20ppg in his euro league. Marshall said something recently that he could see Joe getting an NBA look before long.

Looks like Oklahoma Baptist was 25-8 last season

This came from their athletic page:
"OBU men's basketball has been ranked out of the top 10 just one week in the last five years. OBU has played for more National Championships than anyone else at the NAIA level, including playing in two of the last four national championship games in 2010 and 2012.
OBU has been dominant on its home floor, especially over the last six years going 104-5 inside the Noble Complex. Coach Doug Tolin, a member of four different Halls of Fame, has compelled over 700 career wins, including 363 at OBU and a winning percentage of 80 percent over the last 13 years on Bison Hill."

They seem to be pretty solid.

According to this, they are picked to win their NAIA conference:

Couldn't find their team stats just yet, but it looks like they have quite a few upper classmen at first glance. They might be a pretty good game.

I believe OBU is where AJ Hawkins transferred.

I believe that if HCGM starts CJ it will be because he has earned it and because Marshall is repaying him. Doc said that CJ will be a very good back-up to KC. Doc said that he is NOT competing with KC as a starter. I think that if CJ starts it will be because of his great attitude and hard work and it will be used as motivation to everyone.

Yep. They still have that season roster available.

Here are their stats from last year.

They had 6 seniors on last years team including 4 of the top 5 scorers. In addition, their number 3 scorer from last year, Kameron Price, who was a junior does not appear to be on this year's roster.

While they do have 3 seniors and 6 juniors on this year's roster only 3 played for OBU last year. Morris Woods, a 6-4 Sr G is a transfer from Eastern Illinois. 5 of this year's 6 juniors are JUCO transfers with Cale Jackson being he only junior who played for OBU last year.

I'm not sayin' nothin' about this game so as to not upset the karma. But if we don't boat race these guys its going to be a looooooong season.

I used to be apprehensive when I heard that the expected starter would be coming off the bench. After seeing a little known walk-on recruit from western Kansas win his spot last year (not to mention Wessel), I now believe it is one of the best pieces of news a team can get before the start of the season. If Lufile has made that step, then one of the few possible doubts about next year's season goes away.

                            Wichita State - 105
                            Oklahoma Baptist - 55

Sounds like he is a MAN to me.

In all seriousness though, I wonder if its because he has a better developed back to the basket game so far. He did hit that really weird looking under handed skyhook at Madness.

We know Kadeem can block and dunk, but we need a true center in there. I guess I'll find out soon enough
                              :)

Now, now...I disclosed my old identity to our esteemed site administrator and it certainly doesn't rhyme with Schmoldblooded. Nobody is happier than I am for CJ if this is indicative of a colossal leap in on-court performance.

                              I will predict the following:

                              WSU 91,
                              OBU 53

Someone projected to come off the end of the bench will have a huge game. My money is on Nick.
