We are going to slaughter the shitty MVC this year. Total bloodbath.

ISUb is a nice bubble-quality team and there would be no shame in having tough games against them. Everyone else is going to get their clocks cleaned a la Conference USA vs. Cal's Memphis teams.

We Shocker fans should savor this season- it's gonna be beyond fun.

Ok let's calm down. Mark this down. We will lose a one or two games on the road this year to other Valley teams. There are some nice Valley teams again (no Creighton), but ISUb, UNI, will be good. We don't know how good but there will be a surprise this year. MSU, Evansville will probably be solid especially at home and we just don't know if ISUr will be solid or not(too many new players to know).

We will have a mark on our backs (F4) and be a target for everyone to knock off when at home with their arenas full. Perfection is difficult to handle.

The MVC is a trainwreck this season if you subtract WSU. Literally, every single team except for ISUb, BU and MSU is projected to be worse than last season. And MSU and BU aren't exactly improving on rock-solid campaigns. ISUb definitely does command some respect though.

Embrace becoming an elite program. Elite programs expect to steamroll just about everyone in a league that will feature maybe 1 other Top 50 caliber team.

Exactly. When you are coming off a F4 and coming in at #16, you should be able to finish top 3 in ANY conference and you should be expecting a S16. Otherwise what is the point of a ranking?
When you take that and add a schedule mostly consisting of the approximately 10th best conference (which might only be elevated there by YOU) why would you expect a loss in conference? The next best team is roughly 30-50 range and you are sitting at 16.
Sure, there could be some outliers, but I don't feel the need to make sure I can always say I predicted perfectly. There are as many reasons to believe we will dominate in an embarrassing fashion as there are to believe we might lose some. I will err on the side of Shocker supremacy and Marshallcentrism.

Guys, it's okay, we ARE head and shoulders above every other program in this league. You can say it. It won't jinx anything. 18-0 isn't guaranteed or even likely, but it is possible. Gonzaga has gone undefeated in league play three times in the last nine years. Memphis lost one conference games in Cal's last four seasons at Memphis. This year's watered down MVC is pretty dadgum comparable to the WCC and CUSA in those seasons. And I think the 13-14 Shockers are certainly on par with those Gonzaga and Memphis squads.

17-1 would still qualify as absolutely curb stomping this league if that makes you feel better. 16-2 as well. In the future, whenever someone posts confidently about how awesome and fun this season's team is going to be, let's resist the urge to respond with "BUT WE'RE GONNA LOSE AT LEAST ONCE CUZ REMEMBER EVANSVILLE" type stuff.
