As always, Sully's report is full of great information.

I'll make a flyer pick here and say Bush gives us a few important minutes here and there. Not saying he'll make the regular rotation, but he can play, and he learns quick and understands what Marshall expects and knows what to do.

I don't believe even the koolaid drinkers, myself included, can overstate how good Baker, Cotton and VanVleet are. They're incredible and they make everyone else better. I hope Baker is healthy because he's my POY. He's unquestionably the best 2 in the league, maybe the best 3.

Encouraging about Lufile who is another physical monster that just needs to learn how to use what God gave him. I like our 4-5 rotation. Carter is a stud. Who would have expected Green to get more 4 minutes than Shaq? Not me, but that looks like a real possibility considering Morris looks far more like a redshirt than Holland at this point. Speaking of Holland, dude can FLY. He's tiny, but he can really, really play. He'll be well served to follow Fred like his freaking shadow.

            5 - Coleby - Lufile - Carter
            4 - Early - Carter - Green
            3 - lol
            2 - more lol
            1 - VanVleet - committee + Holland

Especially during Valley Play, I like having the 4 that can hit from the perimeter. Pulls most teams only athletic guy out of the paint and allows our 5 and guards to dominate the glass.

I've felt all along that Green was more of a skinny 4 than a tall wing. He just doesn't have the lateral quickness to be effective for long stretches on the wing. Maybe that will develop later, but with Brown able to play the wing at 6-7, Green will do just fine as a stretch 4.

Baker, Cotton, Wessel, and Wiggins are probably 4 of the top 8 wings in the MVC. Arop, Gulley, Ballentine and Jackson are good. Lemon and Marshall are used more as scoring PGs. Also, I like Fred.

Given the opportunity to put together a one year team from all MVC players I would take:

                Odum, VanVleet
                Baker, Marshall
                Lemon, Arop
                Early, Tuttle
                Coleby, Mockevicius

Gulley and Jackson are on the deep bench.

That's four Shockers arguably in the top 10 of the league. It's quite possible that Carter belongs on that list as well.

Doc, where did this tidbit come from? In what contest did he get more minutes? I missed it, I guess.

Take Arop off there and put Cotton on there. With respect to the rest of the team, there is no Final Four, No Elite Eight, No Sweet Sixteen. He shut down the stars. SHUT THEM DOWN.The only other players in this league that compare to him defensively are either a lemon or Black and Yellow. He is no slouch from deep either.

BTW: Post #2000 for me :D

I wasn't there, but from what I've gathered, he looked like a freshman.

Yes Green could become a really valuable player if he develops into a stretch 4 player. He has such a great perimeter shot and he is not a slasher yet. I think he has the frame to gain some weight to maybe 210-215 lbs and to learn to play with more physicality. But when a 4 can shoot from 20-25' it forces the other teams big to leave the lane.

Doc - I liked what you said regarding Baker 's value to the Shockers. He is only going to improve. His ability to shoot from deep, medium, and get to the rim will be unmatched by anyone in our league. I was amused recently when I visited the I.S.U.red site and someone said that Baker would not be very good this year.

My favorite comment made by Sully:

Cotton is so well-versed in WSU’s matchup zone that Marshall had him sit out during that session.
