Maybe add 5 more slots for All-Defense Team, otherwise you have are nothing but forwards/centers on your All-American list (well not really, but you know what I'm saying). So you end up with 15 + 5. Then maybe an MVP slot or two?

Nah, there's tons of guards on the list. But I can see where they used that type of layout to get to 22 originally.

This list is indeed a Player of the Year type list, by its own admission

The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I player who has played at least two seasons with his respective team. Freshmen and first-year transfers can be named to the All-America team, but are not eligible to receive the Player of the Year honors.

You need to take that up with the people who wrote the press release. It is what it is and it clearly states what it is, in the banner on top and the paragraph I quoted. It says "pre-season All America Team" in the first paragraph and the heading for the list as well. It is obvious that it is not a "team," but it is a list.

Since division 1 college basketball teams usually have 15 players (13 on scholarship + 2 walk ons), maybe they should call it the "All America team and a half:good:"

Regardless of whether it is 15 players or 22, it is still a very good honor for Cleanthony. As someone pointed out we are still talking about the top 2/5th of 1% of players in division 1. Actually many of these lists aren't limited to divison 1 players (even though usually only division 1 players make the list) so you might argue that the percentate is even lower.
