As soon as these guys get bumped up from blogs or small time columns to national writers their tune changes. I used to like *******, but I'm sure his editors/producers/handlers have told him the midwest schools aren't big news on the coasts. The backlash since the 2006 MVC takeover of the NCAA tourney (Still should have been 5 teams) is still in full effect.

There was a big argument on Twitter recently between Bomani Jones and Doug Gottlieb. Gottlieb has been pretty vocal about how student-athletes have it good and how he doesn't feel they should be paid. Gottlieb was listing a bunch of positives he felt he gained from playing Division I basketball, such as the thousands of people he was able to meet through his opportunity, the great coaches he met, etc. Bomani called Gottlieb "brainwashed" and insulted him.

Of course, one of the two actually was a student-athlete at a Division I school and has a pretty good idea what he's talking about. And it's definitely not Bomani. How Gottlieb could ever take him seriously, I am not sure.

i think #22 is too low. final four team, just hitting it's stride, with ace recruiter (and equally good x's and o's) steve forbes now on board. #12 or #14 two years ago (upset, make no mistake, upset loss to vcu in ncaa), followed by a final four after losing everybody that was somebody. nit champs before all of that. yet the arrow is still pointing up.

sidenote: with steve forbes on board, i fully expect wichita state to sign some quality player(s) that haven't even yet been mentioned on the recruiting site here. that's a given.
