I wouldn't mind it if we used gray if that was one of our colors. Georgetown's colors are gray and blue. It makes sense for their uniforms to be gray.

The colors on our logos are black, yellow, and white. There is no gray anywhere, so I don't understand the point of ugly uniforms that don't match the color scheme.

Absolutely not! I am a traditionalist. I don't mind the truncating of Wheatshockers to Shockers as long as we don't lose the connection with our heritage. Shockers still refers to shocking wheat. I see no reason to be ashamed of that heritage in the least bit.

We need to have at least 15 pieces of flair on our uniforms, people can go anywhere to watch a college basketball game but they watch the Shocks for the atmosphere and the attitude.

At least you did not say anything about hanging me from the nearest tree.

              I thank thee.

By the way, I am not ashamed of our Shocker heritage. I was merely suggesting the use of Shocker in a more forceful and threatening manner or somethin' like that.

I imagine that if I spent a day shocking wheat in the hot Kansas sun that I might welcome being struck by lightning.

We're getting a lot of hits and interest from newbies because "Shockers" is our name and they don't know or care anything about wheat.

I've always imagined the Shockers having a uniform combo selection similar to Mizzou, since they share the same colors. I have always been a fan of traditional jerseys, integrated with slight elements of fresher, modern concepts. This is why it brings me to Mizzou's uniforms -- simple and traditional, but featuring the latest Nike/Jumpman design and style.

As you can see, the front of the uniform is pretty simple, but the back features a design that adds to the sophistication and detail of the uniform, thus, drawing more attention.

As far as color-schemes go, I think WSU should roll with three sets of uniform combos from here on out:
-White (Home Jersey) White jersey and shorts, black #'s & lettering, yellow outline
-Black (Away Jersey) Black jersey and shorts, yellow #'s & lettering, white outline
-Yellow (Alternate Jersey, reserved for special games [nationally televised games, tournaments, Yellow-Out at Koch Arena, etc.) Yellow jersey and shorts, black #'s & lettering, white outline

Something that I've always thought about -- a small patch over the left chest on the front of the jersey. Similar to the Chiefs (AFL Patch in honor of Lamar Hunt), the Shocker patch would consist of, perhaps, the University seal or logo with MTXE featured somewhere. The patch would serve as a tribute to the tradition of Shocker basketball and Wichita State as an educational institution, as well as a reminder to the players to always play with MTXE.

                          Thoughts?

I'm one of only a few on here who supports the gray jerseys, but I also want to bring back the yellow jerseys. That said, I don't like the idea of a yellow-out. I think every game should be a "yellow-out" and then once a year or whatever we can have a black-out. The black-out against Creighton this year was positively suffocating. It may not look as good on TV, but it was an incredibly intimidating environment to be in.

There's no reason at all to change the current uniforms. None of these are the least bit acceptable. "Wichita State" must be prominent in any discussion of any uniform changes.
