        • Early working the gate at the NBC tournament last night and got a pic with him and my boys. Nice guy and by the end of the night he had a crowd around him and he was signing autographs and taking pictures.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Edit: Oh, and noticed Earl Watson is still mentioned.

                • Yes, 1979, Brennan at ESPN is a little behind on the Watson saga. Really, though, all he needs to do is substitute "Darius Carter" whenever he starts to mention Earl Watson, and he'll be fine. Otherwise a very nice little piece.

Substituting Carter for Watson doesn't quite cut it. Carter was something like the #8 JuCo in the nation. Watson was something like the #8 JuCo at his school.

Watson actually ranked in the 30s for JUCOs.

He still had a pretty insignificant career. Was he actually ranked that high in the final rankings? If so, the JC level didn't have much or they simply don't evaluate all that well considering his lack of production.

So, I've come to appreciate that you are not a Watson fan, and he had less than a grand JUCO career, but the kid is a monster athlete with a big body. A little coaching could really push him into the elite PF category in D-I. I'm not sure what his work ethic is, but the talent is there, and I am still hopeful that he becomes a Shocker in 2014. By the way, yes, it was the final rankings where he was ranked in the 30s.

I was high on him when he first verballed because of his athleticism, but in his two years since then he hasn't done a lot. And his inability to qualify makes me question his work ethic. I've moved on from him and if he ever does play DI ball, I doubt it'll be here. We appear to be in pretty good shape with Hurt and bringing in two JC bigs next year doesn't make a lot of sense to me as the JR class would then be put at 5 with Baker, Wessel, FVV, Hurt (I hope) and Watson. I suppose out of desperation if we can't land a HS big they could go that direction, but even though the lists haven't worked much in our favor lately with them, I don't expect us to get shutout with the HS guys we're after.

                            • I watched a few Chipola games early last year. Earl made a few big time plays and some bad ones. I understand he lost his starting role as the season progressed. I assume some of his playing time was taken by Cinemeon Bowers, a 6-6 pf. Bowers just might be the best juco player there is this year. Rick Pitino was tracking him at
                              a juco ahowcase this summer.

I remeber Earl was indeed ranked in the 30s by JucoJunction. There rankings come out before the refular season negins and are not updated. I'm kinda getting use to getting top 10 jucos. But, I don't know,Earl appears to have some potential. I, however doubt if he becomes a Shockers.
