I give it a yes on all fronts except I don't know if he has established himself as a recruiter yet.

I have no doubt in his coaching ability. Need a good recruiter.

      This is K.T. Turner's 4th job in 4 years.

Maybe Coach Marshall told him to start looking.

p.s. what about that verbal from the texas kid via connecticut prep school (forget his name right now.. but he's supposed to be pretty good). i wonder if this will affect that, much like the dayton kid that verballed is now going to illinois state..
We have not identified Brown's lead recruiter. Last time I checked, I was pretty sure Hawkins would not be at Illinois State, but a JC.

Turner was not the lead recruiter for Brown.

Unfortunate he's leaving, but with that track record I'm fairly confident we can find someone as good with more loyalty. If I was a recruit, 6 jobs in 7 years doesn't scream "believe me when I recruit you to this school" in the slightest bit.

Regardless, it's not terrible timing. I'd prefer a coach leaving now to leaving before LOIs were in.

Totally agree. He had to be a known flight risk when he was hired.

I just don't quite understand the draw to Southern Nowhere University. So Larry Brown is a good coach and will be out in a few years, but wow. Does he really see more upside at that school compared to WSU?

Kung Wu's in-demand mailbox is fuller than Santa's North Pole's Post Office the week before Christmas to the point of return-to-sender-status.

Networking. Now he's in with the Larry Brown coaching tree.

Sure, I get it. But I think there will be something to say about being in the Gregg Marshall coaching tree when it is all said and done. And if 1 year is all he wants with Gregg, well ok then.

This was my first thought. Or at least something similar was.

Just like players, not every assistant coach will be ready for or fit into 'The Marshal Plan." Coach is vocal about being annoyed when people jump ship, but I will be interested to see how vocal he is about this one. If he doesn't say much, I think you are right. For now, I will assume Turner was fantastic and this is a sad loss, but I'm not so sure :)

He brought in Shaq and we seemed to be in on strong players from OK and TX.

Last year seemed to take awhile to replace Dana.

                                I expect another young buck.
