Good luck to Jake, sorry to see him leave as I think he would have been a productive player for WSU.

Good luck to Jake. This may be just what UNO needs to get things rolling up there and it would be nice to see Jake be a big part of that. If you read any of this make sure to go to Mamas and Lacasas...best pizzas around!

Here is a good article on Jake Whites transfer from the Omaha World Herald.

I look forward to watching him play in a couple years. This gives me a reason to be a Mavs fan. Hopefully in his senior year he gets a chance to dance again.

best of luck...always will remember his hard work ethic, strong rebounder, and a knack for put backs around the rim...I will not remember him for his 3 point shooting though ;)...GO SHOX, GO MAVS

Good for Jake and think he will do well in the summit.

On a side note, I know a lot will scoff at this but one day I would like to see UNO and UMKC in the Valley. Other metro publics without football. If you look at what UNO is doing it won't be long before they have better facilities or at least on par facilities with a lot of Valley schools and the Valley is a known entity of quality in Omaha already, UMKC on the other hand has a LONG way to go both competition wise and facility wise. Granted I also wish the Valley could rid of the football schools all together and obviously that isn't going to happen.

Jake will tear up that league. Some guys transfer because they don't have the work ethic to cut it at a high major program. That is NOT the case with Jake. He busts his tail day in and day out.

He'll get better and bigger and stronger in his off year and be a beast when he finally takes the floor for UNO. Good luck Jake!

I hope UNO does well but if they get too good the big school in Lincoln will do what it can to make sure they falter. I know it's a little off topic and I apologize for that but UNO had a decent football program and the folks in Lincoln made sure it was ended before they went to D1. But it would be nice for me to have the valley back in Omaha.

UNO is my new second favorite team, at least until 2016.

UNO must have indeed made an impression. White said he also considered South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Valparaiso and Murray State — some of the top teams in their mid-major conferences.
Look forward to tracking his career. Too bad UMKC is leaving the Summit League. I could have watched him against the Roos when they came to town. Agree with others. Jake will be a force on his team and in the league.

Today at practice the tallest man on the team at UNO was overheard saying, "Sit down and make way for the Final Four ring, bitches."

Somehow that doesn't sound like the Jake White who played here, Kung. But it will probably be an object of awe and inspiration nevertheless.

Friendly reminder that Jake White's reign of terror begins November 16th.

I would sure love to see UNO outperform any other D-1 colleges in Omaha this season. Isn't there another university up there? I'm pretty sure there is a tiny 7,000 student private school with no basketball arena, few true fans who aren't divided and a really poor outlook for 2104-15.

UNO is twice the size of CU. Lots of graduates up there waiting for their alma mater to have a good run. What I wouldn't do to get to watch a season with Nebraska and UNO doing better than CU.

My favorite part is that it is entirely possible that UNO could have a better RPI than CU this season.

You can be guaranteed that true CU fans in Omaha aren't thrilled that UNO went D1, for the reasons you just outlined.
