It was pretty awesome when HCGM came over after the game and was high fiving the front row of the student section
As a former student, I cannot see how that doesn't make you want to grab 50 of your closest friends and drag them, kicking and screaming if necessary, to every game. Of course, I can't understand how there aren't 1200 students that want to be a part of every home game no matter how we are doing, but that's just me.
If you aren't stoked to be a part of this program, you don't have a competitive bone in your body.

I totally agree with this post. I was able to coax quite a few to go with me when I was a student there in the 90's...it should be 10x's easier now!! Even with the struggles this year at least we know the future is bright. Back when I was going to school there...there wasn't much hope at all.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
I agree. I've always enjoyed Barry's comments and candor. He seems extremely knowledgeable, and besides that--he's entertaining to listen to. He represents the Valley well.
However, from what I've gathered (Valley Talk, etc.) about his relationship with the students, it looks like he's not very well liked over in Springfield.
Something I haven't seen discussed nearly enough is the SUPREME effort from Ramon on the boards and especially the defensive end.
If you never played the game, it's tough to describe how completely frustrating it can be to play defense against a bigger, more athletic and skilled opponent. Ramon had Devin Mitchell last night. He is one of the very best players in the league. Ramon totally shut him down and Mitchell is the kind of guy that never stops going.
This is hardly the first time for Ramon. He is routinely matched up against a guy bigger and stronger and he has held his own all year long.

Big props to RC. You are a stud, mister.
Great D, great board work, big Free Throws!

Ive toyed with the idea of starting that kind of thread. But to be honest Ramo's heart/dedication/effort/sheer awesomeness shouldnt have to be pointed out. IMO If people arent seeing it they are missing out on a really special ball player.
But for the record I completley agree with everything you said.
Gee, I'm sure it slipped your mind to mention his 9 assists, 15 points, key FTs and 3 pointer near the end. Just thought I'd cover them for you so that it doesn't appear that you are being one-sided. Not too shabby for a Soph.
Can you imagine how good that line would've looked without the 7 TO's? Gal contributed big last night. I applaud that. It just sucks that our point guard had 7 TO's. I'd say that's a tad above average. For every good thing he did last night, he just about canceled it out with a bad thing. So, it's just about a wash IMO.
I'm just glad we won, so it's all a moot point anyways.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Which game were you at? I wasn't even there and although there were a few empties scattered around, the arena was definitely more than 60% full, contrary to what you claim..
6500? ..

Solid post Doc!!
RC sometimes doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's a warrior and a baller. He's a great part of our team. It's too bad we have him in the midst of a transition year.

Barry will not be without a job for long. He would be great on TV, imo. Course, I thought there were lots of empty seats, Gal had a less-than-sterling performance, and the dunk at the buzzer was ok.
You do make a fair point Doc. I guess I'm just used to the way MB runs the floor and knows what to do in transition. Whenever Gal gets into a fastbreak, it looks like he has no idea what to do in the situation. Sometimes he shoots a crazy shot on 3 defenders. Sometimes he misses a pass to a teammate for a layup. Sometimes he just panics and pulls out.
I just get an abundance of uneasiness over me when we hit those situations. I know I'm not the only one feeling like this judging by the collective sound of the arena holding its breath whenever it happens.. And I KNOW you guys know what I'm talking about.
But your point is valid. We'd probably be in worse shape than we are now (can't get much worse than 2-8 though) without Gal.
It's a win, so I'll stop with the ranting.
