Would it be odd to have a HoF player not hung up in the rafters? Even if it were Ehimen, it'd at least be considered as that person would be the biggest success to come out of the program at that point."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. If there is specific criteria set for players, AA status, I don't think you change it at this point. You still have the HOF to honor worthy players.
Is there criteria for coaches? Did Ralph Miller's 200+ wins qualify him? I would think a NIT Championship and Final Four appearance would make Gregg worthy.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

He's coaching for a statue right now. Not many coaches in the country have earned one of those bad boys at _any_ school. Bring it home Coach!!!Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Here are the per game averages for the 5 players hanging in the rafters plus Warren Jabali. Game averages are perhaps a better way of comparing career stats because when Dave and Warren played freshman were not eligible to play varsity ball and they did not play as many games in those days. Cliff bypassed his Senior year and only played 3 years as well.
Dave Stallworth: 80 GP, 24.2 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 4.9 APG
Cleo Littleton: 114 GP, 19.0 PPG, 7.7 RPG, (No assists numbers available)
Xavier McDaniel: 117 GP, 18.4 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.9 BSPG
Antoine Carr: 112 GP, 17.1 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.9 APG, 1.9 BSPG
Cliff Levingston: 91 GP, 16.2 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.7 BSPG
Warren Jabali: 78 GP, 16.7 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 5.5 APG
Dave and Warren were the only players on the above list that had a triple-double during their Shocker careers. Dave had 1 and Warren had 4. Dave's triple-double was against St. Louis where he had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. In Warren's 4 triple-double games he averaged 24.75 points, 16.25 rebounds and 11 assists.
While Dave and Warren played fewer games every year there were not many easy touches on those schedules.
Unfortunately for Warren he did not make any All-American team. Warren may well have been the best pure athlete to ever wear a Shocker uniform (in any sport).Last edited by 1972Shocker; April 17, 2013, 08:57 PM.
