I don't understand these jokers at espn.. I have no contacts within the WSU basketball program, but I did serve in the army during the height of the iraq war. It doesn't take a genius to point out good and bad leadership.. Marshall players are loyal to him and the athletic department is loyal to him. Not a single ***** in the armor here. If anything it seems as if espn holds some strange grudge on WSU. Bill Self is always furious during games and breaks tables, not a problem in espn's eyes though, he's the KU coach so he walks on water.

Come on now. Do we really want to rehash Dan Patrick's ill-handling of his interview with Marshall. You want to take the ESPN guys or even the Fox Network guys to task over this crap, fine. But leave the coaches out of it. Self is not who Marshall had the problem with so let's not go on about Self "walking on water" and therefore he can do or say anything as far as ESPN is concerned. Self was fined by the NCAA for that little outburst and I know the ESPN commentators really felt like Self didn't do anything THAT bad but his action just happened to break a piece of equipment so consequences were coming . I really don't think the ESPN commentators would have said anything different if it had been another coach -- any other coach (unless it was a coach who was known for his bad temper and bad manners on the sidelines). You make it sound like Bill Self is constantly breaking tables, which is a load of crap. I bleed Shockers, but I have no problem with Self or even squeaky Weber as far as their coaching ethics and behavior goes. By the way, have you ever seen Marshall on the sidelines when things aren't going his way or if he thinks the calls are way too one sided? Every coach can lose his temper given the right set of circumstances.

ESPN will always favor the BCS no matter how crappy they are.
If we want ESPN's love, that's a pretty easy solution: Make them money. And we will make them money by bringing them viewers. And we will only bring viewers if we keep winning. The more we win, the more ESPN will love us, because the more people will watch our games, and the more people will stay tuned when they see us on the ticker for a SportsCenter story coming up.
It's a company. You appeal to ESPN the same way you appeal to any other company.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

HC3GM has an AWESOME personality for interviews. In fact he'd make a heckuva sportscaster when he gives up basketball. It helps that he interviews so well because it encourages more interviews when the opportunity presents itself. That's awesome for Wichita State.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Sucks we don't even get the ESPNU game being the "featured" team. We are relegated to ESPN3.
It's none other than Chaminade and Baylor. Not sure how exactly that is a bigger ratings draw for ESPN than WSU/DePaul even if it's just ESPNU but oh well. I'm over it now.

Somebody help me out:
27 games + the CBE. 27-18 Valley games = 9 non conference games.
Tulsa, Alabama, St. Louis, Davidson, ORU, Tennessee, Western Kentucky. That's 7. There are 2 left. Everyone says 1. Which game am I missing?

You have the 7 mentioned + 2 from the CBE. Then we have two games at home from lesser quality CBE opponents. That makes 11 then the one opening.Last edited by EB 22; July 19, 2013, 09:50 AM.
