  • So here's how the schedule is looking so far:

    ??? - Davidson (Home)
??? - Tennessee (Neutral, Intrust Bank Arena)
    November - CBE (Home)
    November - CBE (Home)
November 11th - Western Kentucky (Home, ESPN Tip Off Marathon)
    November 20th - Tulsa (Road)
November 25th - CBE - Texas, BYU, or DePaul (Neutral, Kansas City)
November 26th - CBE - Texas, BYU, or DePaul (Neutral, Kansas City)
December 1st - Saint Louis (Road)
December 7th - Oral Roberts (Home)
    December 18th - Alabama (Road)

So ... one game left to schedule? I'd assume at least two of the games without dates (Tennessee, Davidson?) will be in December. Lot of room between Saint Louis and Alabama right now. Last season's CBE opening rounds were between November 9-16. Apparently Alabama released the date of our game with them yesterday: http://www.al.com/alabamabasketball/index.ssf/2013/06/alabama_releases_its_2013-14_n.html#/0

*Edit: Added December 7th to the ORU game after realizing Sullentrop had that in his original article.

Impressive, to say the least. Some really challenging games all over the place in there, especially on the road. One has to assume this last one will be a home game to round it out. Hopefully it lands in the Top 150 at least.

Paying a DII squad doesn't touch our RPI, as far as I know. That's my guess for a home game right now, unless we get a pretty good game to fall into our laps.

That was what Boatright was quoted as saying was likely in a recent Eagle article that was posted on here previously.

              • Also:

Currently, our schedule (averaging BYU, Texas, and DePaul all together and leaving out the other two CBE games) has an average RPI of 100, and average KenPom rating of 103.4, based on the numbers from these teams last season.

Last season's schedule had an average RPI of 147, and average KenPom of 148.

Our final three teams would all have to be around 300 ranked teams to even the two schedules out. Hopefully that's not what we're looking at. I'm sure we'll get two stinkers in the CBE, but hopefully not that bad. Also works out pretty well with most of the best teams we play being on the road/neutral court: maximizes benefit of the wins, minimizes repercussions of a possible loss. Does Intrust count as a neutral court for RPI purposes?

Intrust counts as a home game for us, if I remember correctly. It has to be a certain distance from the school's campus.

One of the CBE games is Buffalo so that won't hurt our SOS too bad. Don't know who the other is yet. Still hoping that we can find a BCS school who needs a game at the last minute that we can fill our last open spot with. Overall I'm very happy with this schedule.

                    • Excellent road test for the boyz (at Saint Louis). I believe they return four starters from last season who are all Seniors this upcoming season. Their Senior leadership, experience, playing at home and the Final Four target on our back will make for a very difficult game. But a very good resume' win if we can get it.

Not to mention it will be one year to the date of their former coach Rick Majerus death. Should be pretty emotional for them and I expect to see a lot of heart from the Billiken players.
