My guess is #5 or #6

VCU was 6th in the final 2011 rankings. I expect either #5 or #6.

Here's another question: If we had held on and beat Louisville by 8-10 points, what would the point spread have been for tonight vs Michigan? Might we even have been favored?

No way. It would have been close (2-3 points), but Michigan would have been the favorite.

Prolly the top 10, but I actually thought the Championship Game was played Saturday. If I am without 'egg on my face' after tonight and Louisville wins handily, then we should be ranked 2nd but will be ranked maybe in the Top 10. The politics of it all sometimes escapes my ability to predict correctly such aspects in real world findings.

If Louisville blows out Michigan, it will help out final ranking a lot.

If pollsters were listening to Rick Pitino after the game saturday, there could be a very good ranking for WSU. If they blow out Michigan tonight then his words will mean quite a bit.

#5 at worst is what I figure.

Bob on the B&B show said that there is no final ranking for basketball. He said there was a final ranking for football but not basketball.

Bob is half right. There isn't a final AP vote but there is a final coaches' vote. When considering that the final vote will be comprised of a bunch of dumbass coaches, you'd give WSU less than a 50/50 chance of cracking the Top 10.

                        ... No really, deuces.

When we went to the Elite 8 in 2000, we finished ranked 9th, behind number 8 Cincinnati, a team we beat in the second round. LOL. Like someone said, expect to be disrespected. I'd put you between 3-5. You deserve to be no lower than the top 5.

I heard that too and was surprised that he and Haertl weren't aware of the final basketball poll.

                            A caller later corrected them.

i'm pulling for louisville by 10 tonight, therefore highlighting the shockers run, in a way.

I hope most of you are right, but I'm guessing we'll end up in the 10-15 range.
