Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Tekele is could possibly be invited to this year's slam dunk competition (unless he happens to be still playing).
Do you think he's been thinking about and/or practicing special dunks. I'm not sure the "look at me" mentality of that type of competition meshes with his personality.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Warren Armstrong was about 6'2" and may have just had the highest vertical hops here ever. He had such a complete game as proven by his stats here and did play well in the Pro's. Of all the Shockers I have seen here since, IMO Cotton's game reminds me of him the most. Freshmen were not allowed to play varsity back then but Warren in 3 Season compiled some serious all around stats as a Shocker.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Stallworth's 1963 team beat #1 and two-time defending National Champion Cincy, #2 Ohio State, and #3 Loyola of Chicago, who beat Cincy for the 1963 National Championship. They als beat Arizona State, who made the Elite 8.
They finished season ranked #5 in the AP poll. Did not go to the NCAA because there were no at large bids. And that was NOT his best season..
He would not be coming off the bench for anyone..Last edited by jocoshock; January 24, 2015, 12:52 PM.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

SHOXMVC, your Dad is correct about WA. For example, #3 Loyola came here Feb--1966 and 6'2" WA scored 25 points and 18 bounds and we ended their 14 game winning streak according to the 2007-2008 Shocker Basketball Guide. WA made many many su-weet assists as well and also played stingy defense. He was a huge difference in many huge games we won back then. There will never be another WA here in my opinion. Even so, Cotton's all-around game, his defense, and ability to be a difference maker on both sides of the court reminds me most of WA game of any other Shocker since.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Thus we got the game with the Zags and had to make most everything we threw up towards the end to surpass them. If I recall, FVV, a Frosh. at the time, made a long, far far away 3 just before the shot clock, which was instrumental to that huge Shocker win.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

The great thing I love about these debates is that nobody is right or wrong. Although all conjecture, it is virtually impossible to go wrong with any of the combinations. And as far as who is better than whom, well good luck guys there are simply too many tangibles and intangibles which enter into making a clear decision. And just one example of many, is who were their team mates and did they atract or distract from their greatness.
