I think Wichita State will be able to handle the pressure. When they prepare for it they are really good. Marshall talked about it in his press conference after the game. It reminded of him of his first tournament win at Winthrop. They got up by 20 on Notre Dame and Notre Dame pressed. They never did that during the season so his team wasn't prepared to handle it and Notre Dame mounted a comeback. It was a similar situation with Ohio State.

You should lower your level of mad. I was answering a question. If you're going to get offended, don't ask the question or read the reply. Or read the thread for that matter if you can't handle opposing perspectives.
wait a minute. slow your roll, mr cool. you said it first, so don't get your panties twisted yet again. you've probably been believing that mike and mike +fox sports stuff. unless the world turns, you got some nasty defense coming up on 'ya. like, louisville 1980 defense coming up on 'ya. unh hunh..

As someone pointed out, I think it's pretty clear we didn't plan to see any full court pressure against Ohio State and it showed.

In our first game this year against North Carolina Central, they pressed us and it really, really bothered our team.. I remember seeing a lot of bad turnovers. Our next game was against VCU and many here were predicting us to just get demolished because their pressure would be far better, but we handled their press just fine, since we knew it was coming and we were able to gameplan against it. A week of watching you guys on tape and practicing against it (although I understand it's impossible to fully emulate what you guys do) will work wonders.

@another shocker:, come on man. The Louisville fans on here have been perfectly fine. There is no need to be so defensive. What they have said about their team is accurate, they are really good, and they have given us far more respect than the other fanbases we have seen. They are the favorites in this game, and while I believe that we can win, they shouldn't have to grovel and pretend like they aren't the favorites to have a conversation on this board.

I'd say the Louisville fans we have encountered have been good. I wish it was always like this.

A couple of real class acts showed up to represent "t"OSU who did nothing but trash WSU. Predictably, there was no post game congratulations or open crow eating which would have been decent sportsmanship. There was a lot of conspiracy theory stuff and everything other than WSU being any good talked about on their board. Just big talk and then whining really. I suppose I can remember one or two guys that were good, but so far Louisville is pretty much 100%.

Sure wish we could borrow Louisville for a year while the big east settles down. Instead we will reach for the stars and bring in umkc like a bunch if idiots.

FWIW, Pitino said he had Wichita penned into the final four before the tournament started. I don't know if that's actually true or not. Pitino is a master motivator and a master of hyperbole. Colorado state was the best 2nd round team he's ever played (yes, he said that). Oregon was the most under seeded team in the history of the tournament (yes, he said that). Coach K is a modern day John Wooden (yes, he said that). I can only assume that Wichita State would compete with the Miami Heat by the time Pitino finishes building your team up. His pressers are thoroughly entertaining, and if another_shocker wants to hear someone to build up Wichita State like new parents build up their 2 month old that learned to roll over, look no further than Rick Pitino.

What did I start? I was replying to someone stating that Wichita might as well not show up when I talked about the press. As I said, I was asked a question about one of the best aspects of a great defense. Needless to say, I had good things to say about it. Someone overreacted saying Wichita shouldn't even show up. What did they expect me to say? Louisvilles press sucks? Everyone beats it? You guys want me to answer honestly or stroke someone's ego?

Hey, a quick question about Louisville, with my own response in kind to follow.

How do we beat you? If you were to coach WSU against Louisville, what advantages do we have?

If I were coaching Louisville against us, I'd say that if you keep us out of the paint and force is to shoot from the perimeter, you win. I think we can handle your pressure, but not your half-court. We have real trouble getting the ball into the post sometimes, and I think that if you can contain Carl Hall and keep us jacking threes all night, you win.

Ignore him. Keep the info coming. How come Hancock transferred from George Mason-due to Diamond Jim leaving?

Yes. Pitino wanted a high IQ wing to plug in. Pitino said he couldn't play a lick of defense when he got to Louisville, but as you imagine, a lot of knowing pitinos system isn't based on athletic ability as much as intelligence and intuition. Luke is incredibly intelligent. I really cannot say enough good things about that kid. He was a steal.

I'm really curious to see how he fills in at the two guard spot if it comes to that.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Kevin Ware, today, could beat Luke in a race.

what???? that makes no sense. nobody said that. take off the big east mental block- louisville is getting ready to go up against the best ballhandling team left in the tournament. get it? got it? good. sorry if that offends you to say that.
