The new dorm being built might be intended for athletes. We also need a training table, so the diets of the athletes can be controlled Feed them well and make sure the calories are in line with their energy expenditures.

Forget about raising the roof. Raising the roof doesn't produce more seats - it produces a wall. More seats would require a completely reconstructed arena and a completely new roof with a larger diameter. Hanging luxury boxes off a raised ceiling would be an engineering challenge. It's already a challenge to create a roof that large with the supports to ground that it has. Adding more weight to the roof is probably not feasible without complete redesign and reconstruction.

I can see hanging some camera nests from the roof. 2 on each side and one behind each basket. Then two more on wires suspended above the court. the current roof structure should be able to support an additional ton or so spread out over the entire roof.

Speaking of the arena, what are the strobe lights in the 4 diagonal corners of the court. I've noticed them at games. Up on the roof - one each on the NW, NE, SE, and SW "corners" of the court.

Oh, the Visitors' locker room could use a little upkeep. I'm thinking of of a new paint job. Pink and lime green come to mind for a color combination.

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

the strobes are camera flashes for the press corps... Most sports arenas have them. by having the flash way up high, it's not noticeable on the court.

That said, with the move to digital cameras, "film" speeds have greatly increased and the flashes aren't needed as much as they used to be.

if general dynamics were smart they would buy up cessna and move gulfstream production here.

imagine the market coverage they would have cessna covers
$3 million to $25 million in jet prices plus all the single engines and Caravans
gulfstream covers the more expensive jets etc etc.

I too am not a fan of expanding Koch, both because of the difficulties noted above and because of the impact it could have on the atmosphere. Duke plays in a smaller facility than we do, so I would rather expand our reach through better radio and internet viewing options than by increasing the seat numbers.

I think that the idea of putting camera nests would be a great idea, though. The current camera angles at Koch are way too low and doesn't present the arena well on TV.
