Easy draw or not, WSU has won 3 games in the NCAAs. The 1-seeds in theory should have "an easy draw" every year until the Elite 8. I don't recall ever hearing that comment though.... A team can only play the games set forth by the committee. Faulting WSU for doing just that is ridiculous. That would be like the national media faulting Florida for beating FGCU (if that is the end result). Play the games, win the games. Same argument Gonzaga had about its gaudy record, as Barkley put it "Its not my fault your team sucks".

My prediction is simple. WSU shows they belong by taking OSU to the limit. If the team plays like it did against the 'Zags, they win a close one. I honestly think WSU comes up short, but no way I would bet against the boys. Its been one hell of a fun ride.

    OSU- 58
    WSU- 54

Comparative Stats from StatSheet.com - Ohio State - NCAA Tourney Elite 8

"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Let the people keep disrespecting us. It's working in our favor. We rarely played well when given the spotlight and the glory. I actually don't like to remember we were ranked 15th in the nation this year, because we immediately choked. Keep giving other teams the spotlight, and we'll shine on our own. But don't knock OSU either...

        Shockers - 73
        Ohio State - 70

OSU was impressive against a more athletic opponent in AZ last night. Watching OSU make contested shot over contested shot on those athletic guys was certainly eye opening. There are times when you play the best defense possible and still can't slow a team down. Kind of like there is no defense for the perfectly thrown pass.

The good thing here is that all the pressure is on OSU, we're playing with house money. I hope OSU takes us for granted and simply perceive our game as a formality. That will only help us.

Pitt and TOSU stats might be similar, But Ohio State played in THE toughest conference this year. I dont think the BIG whatever number they are now got enough love.

            No predictions, just ready

I am in awe of Cotton's defensive skillset. All he's done so far in this tournament in shut down Woodall (literally sent him away in tears), Pangos and Galloway...but he'd be giving up nearly half a foot to Thomas...not to mention we haven't even discussed Ross. I'll be interested to see the defensive assignments come tomorrow.

We have won 3 games in different fashion, besides our normal shut down defense. Tosu will have to pick which team to get ready for. So freaking ready for 6:05 tomorrow!!

We are a #9 seed in the Elite 8. Overrated? Hello, wonder what Clark has been putting in his Rice Krispie Treats.

I agree. It is time to recognize Bob for the player he was and to forgive his "shortcomings" and recognized he was simply afflicted with being human.

Gonzaga is very good and capable of beating any team in the tournament. Pitt and LaSalle perhaps not so much but it's not like we just squeezed by them.

tOSU is my favorite school in which I did not attend. Great academics, incredible athletic teams, history, inimitable facilities. Columbus, Clintonville, Short North, German Village = awesome!

Ironically, I just saw an old film with Ali MacGraw. Foreshadowing?

This matchup is precisely why we want to be in the tourney... OSU is big, strong, and tough.. So are we. On Saturday, we get to see the Shox against the Buckeye's. I don't know the final score. I see something in the high 60s -high 70s, and a single digit point spread.

And I really like our chances and feel very good about this. Shox win.. 30 wins for the first time in Shocker history.

and NOT to look past OSU, but..

the superstitious part of me says we are wearing Black, and if we win, we play Louisville/Oregon. If we win that game, Baker will be the man and we will have 31 wins which matches the number of his jersey.

If we win the National Championship, we will be wearing black and will get win #32. The number of Tekele's jersey... How appropriate...

                                GO SHOX!!!
