Great to see fresh teams in Final Four. You cannot underestimate what this does for Gregg Marshall/Wichita State/Valley.

We're going to the Final Four.

Our guys play defense like few teams in the country. It's a soft year. We have a ton of senior leadership and a lot of good stories. We've got a great coach. We have passionate fans that WILL travel. We have intriguing match up possibilities. Mason, Butler, VCU....Wichita State.

And we have the size and physical talent to compete with almost any team. I understand we can lose to a lot of teams, and I won't dismiss the chance we can be one and done. Heck, at least 32 teams will be 1 and done.

But if our guys play D like they've played most of the year and especially in the tournament, if Carl, Jake and Ehimen make layups, if Cle gets back to his old self, if we just get the usual good defensive play from DWill, Tekele and Mal, if Fred and Ron can give us a spark off the bench and just a couple of Baker, Wiggins, Mal, Cle, Fred or DWill can get hot from 3 (I know that sounds like a lot, but is any of those things a stretch at all?) I think we can go long....really long.

We can lose any game, but so can almost anyone in the tourney. I'm going to be out in front on this one. How about you?

And don't try and patronize our Shocks with a Cinderella analogy. We belong here, we earned our wins versus very tough competition, and we are unsatisfied MTXE angry playing road warriors. We are not done yet!!! There will be 4 left standing and we have 2 more wins to also earn. The best is yet to come. Forget Cinderella!!!

Not much. Held on to beat some state school out of Ohio last night.

We play again Saturday. I might try to catch a few mins on the telly. Ill be in Atlanta, so maybe I should get a couple tickets, but dont know who we are playing so it might not be worth it.

The paper today referenced our 70-66 win in a clever way as Fourtitude. Indeed, the intestional fortitude our beloved Shocks took us from a team projected 4th in the Valley right on to the Final 4. The game last night illustrated the audacity of our road warriors.

Exhibit A--Carl Hall gets elbowed in the jaw, goes down, gets up, keeps playing, gets bulldozed into and flattened like a pancake, is called for a blocking foul, trainers are asking him how many fingers they are holding up and what State he is in, he goes to the locker room, marches right back to the hardwood like it was nothing but a thing, and points us towards the road to Atlanta, and like a distinguished BEAST, he helps to cut down nets.

Exhibit B--D-Will only plays 7 minutes but makes the very best of it with a 3 that brought down rain, 2 assists, and defends, defends, defends. D-Will is an epitome of a pure Shocker Team Player that does whatever instructed to help us win.

Exhibit C--Mr. Armstud was willing to receive scorn when we had a 3 game losing streak. Folk were second guessing both his abilities and 3G's strategies. Last night his 14 points, 3 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals led to a MVP Tourney award and in humble fashion points praise to The Lord for opening the doors to these opportunities. What a nice Easter thought.

Exhibit D--Cle goes down and is waving to the bench. When the Commentator mentioned his achilles tendon, my heart skipped a beat. He limps to the locker room and I told my company he may not be back. What the hay? Early, who is never ever late, returns and finishes with 12 points and 7 rebounds. We have had way more of our share of injuries and drama. However, adversity is the black and yellow breakfast of champions.

Exhibit E--We are now heading to the land of Cotton's home baby. Downtown Atlanta. What a defender, what an improved 3 point shot he now has, and his 10 points were huge last night. What a warrior!!!

Exhibit T--T is for Team. Each player played a huge role along the way. Wiggy was instant offense and at times this Season was scoring a point a minute. He did not play much yet at the Dance, but if we need him in Atlanta, he will drain he J for us. Count on it. Baker and FVV are Freshmen playing roles of Seniors at this Big Dance. EO, Chadrack, and White came in when called on and made stops, rebounded, and scored. And last but not least, Mr. Wessel maybe played the most difficult supporting role of watching due to his injury. Even so, he knows Mr. Baker and MR. Armstud did this last Season. Next Season, he will return as a Soph. and watch out because he is a winner. .

In conclusion, why is this such a Special Season that far exceeded expectations? We have an awesome Coaching Staff with a Team of Executors that far exceeded the realistic expectations of even an Eternal Optimist baybay!!!!!!!

What's up is that you may need to raise your expectations Doc. What lies ahead is going to be very tough indeed, but I am not sure we have played our best total game yet. We have been very good for 25 minutes. If we can be very good for 15 minutes each half we have as good as shot as any at the gold.

"I felt a little better about Cle because it was like the boy who cried wolf with injuries," Marshall said. "I had seen that many times this season. I thought we'd have to call the ambulance or get out a stretcher or whatnot, and the next thing I know he's back in practice.

"I heard he was getting X-rays, and next thing I know he's back in the game. He's an interesting bird."
