playing at a 10-12 seed will almost guarantee us a BCS school. regardless our defense will keep us in games, but I wish we would be more aggressive on offense, like that last few minutes of the southern miss, 2nd game of the illinois state game, and the final with creighton...our shooters should not hesitate, shoot off screeens...ie. Baker, Armstead, Wiggins and Early...I am hoping for Sweet 16 anything more is gravy on this years biscuit. GOSHOX

I think we need to get get Wiggins involved more on the offensive side. He's a pure scorer who can light it up against BCS competition. You sacrifice a little bit defensively but we need to score more points to be able to move on in March. Especially if Cle can't get it together and stay out of foul trouble. Someone has got to step into that role and put some points on the board. I'd like to see a second group of FVV, Ron, Wiggins, White, and OE get more playing time.

I hope that 7-10 days in the gym shooting will do for SWill what it did for Tekele."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

That's a hell of an addition for the postseason.
And I might as well talk about the development of FVV. I feel more comfortable with him in the game right now than DWill. He's smooth, smart, can shoot and more importantly, loves to penetrate and create for others. That's exactly what I want out of my PG.
This team can be so damn good. And the future is damn bright. Immediate and long-term.

We are much better with Baker. It had been so long since we had seen him play that I had forgotten how athletic he is and just what a beautiful, quick release he has. He is the best pure shooter we have had at WSU in a long time. I love Hatch, Rags, Ben, Cle, Hannah, ArmStud, but nobody has a stroke like Baker. Wiggins is right there too. It's just too bad the rest of Nick's game has kept him out. I would love to see our guys get hot from the outside. As coach said, we hit 40% and we are gonna win. At least I think he said that.

As I said in my Thread of Lamentations, it would take at least an Elite Eight for me to forget about getting Evansvilled up the ass this year. The thing is, because of that disaster on senior night, I don't have a lot of confidence in what the Shockers WILL do. Notice I said will instead of can. I don't think the Shockers play near as tough as they did at the beginning of the year. Remember how all of us in here were effusive with praise on how this Shocker team seemed like the toughest team in memory? Well, that team wouldn't have lost on Senior night. Yes we can play hard and tough, but we can also go soft and let nobodies prance into the lane and score.
We need the team to come out energized in the NCAA's and play hungry like they did at the beginning of the season. We need the EO of Iowa. We need Cle' to use his athleticism around the basket on offense as WELL as defense. We need Wiggs to snipe. We need Beast to be the Beast EVERY game. We need 'Stud to be a stud. And Cotton and DWill to be defensive leaders. Baker and FVV will be the X-factors and could quite possibly be the ones that make a difference. EVERYBODY needs to go 110%.
I can hope, but at this point, I can't expect. These are the same players that **** the bed in a way that even I didn't think was possible on senior night when all the marbles were on the line. Well, all the marbles are on the line again.. does anybody want them?

I like players like Cotton and Baker, who seem very similar to me. They scrap everywhere and play a mans game at every point on the floor.
Anyone remember Bakers post-up move in STL? When is the last time we had a guard who could post up? LD Swanson?
