Dude...that's the Valley for you man. Any team can beat you. Ask the Almighty team in Lawerence, Kansas about Valley teams. We've all seen it.
Greg Marshall is an excellent coach....but sometimes he thinks he can beat Valley teams by simply having more athletic players on his team. A lot of times that works just fine and dandy, and some times...not so much.

Probably doesn't make you feel any better but UNI was also swept by Evansville.

I think losing to UMKC a few years back was more embarrassing. Colt McCoy is one helluva a player that would be starting here. I just want GM to be able to recruit a similar player who can single handily take over and win games on a consistent basis when the need arises.

When you cant consistently run an offensive scheme with players who dont consistently make shots, you will inconsistently lose to teams who consistently have players who do.

Each team has ups and downs. Think of each team as a wave with high nodes and low nodes. Our lower node is not higher than every teams highest node, therefore we still have days where we can lose to anyone.

Until we get consistency where our lowest node is higher than everyone elses's highest node this will happen.

Sorry if my terminology on waves is not correct.

I think Early is that player next year.

I'd take a colt too, just not their .500 record (I'm guessing) over his 4 years.

Heck they are 17-14 this year his senior year, no thanks.

Granted they could still make the ncaa this year.

Wouldn't that be awesome to see!!! I hope so too. My whole paradigm how the Valley dictates to it's officials how the game should be officiated to create "fairness" would completely do a 180 if Cle is allowed to play athletic, log 30 minutes, and average 22-25 points a game.

Senior night hurt really bad. Hungover the next day without having a drink bad. I didn't mind losing at EU any more than any other Valley road loss, especially given CH wasn't back. It wasn't fun but you aren't going to be perfect on the road.

I agree it's unacceptable to get swept by EU in anything. Totally embarrassing. Time to move on though. Hopefully we meet em again and send them to their rightful place in the pits of despair.

I really really wish we would press more....their confidence is shaken....we have way to much time to think in our half court offense. We need players reacting and not thinking. I would take a few more mistakes early in games. We have horses that need to run...I think pressing early and hard might help.

" Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

I'm working on getting my mojo back. I'm getting better but I'm still stuck on that fateful Wednesday night. Biggest F-UP in as long as I can remember. I haven't watched a single Shocker game since that night. I have some games DVR'd but I am trying to clear my craw. I've said it many times before; I could care less what happens at the St. Louis Welfare Invitational - I care only about season championships (and NCAA runs) and we had at least a share of one in our pockets. I mean it was sealed up, signed, deposited at the bank, I saw my balance reflect the deposit, and then BAM! the check bounced.

I think I'll be ready for the NCAA's but I'm still not sure yet. It's a travesty that I could miss out on some of the fun this post-season but I am really, really bent out of shape after getting Evansvilled. To call them spoilers would be a huge understatement. Biggest F-UP in as long as I can remember....

Like most posters on this board I follow this team win or lose. But I also understand the need for fair weather "message board" fans.

I will address your snarky comment in this thread because it is more appropriate in here.

A "fair weather" fan is synonymous with a "bandwagon" fan. This is one that only follows a team while they are winning. When the team has bad years, they either stop following or find a new winning team. To label CB as a bandwagon fan is about as accurate as calling Obummer a gun nut. You see, I had to step away from the games because of intense pain. Bandwagonners don't feel pain. They simply enjoy the ride while things are good and bail when things turn sour. They endure little suffering, and for that reason, do not enjoy the full thrill of great moments. Bandwagon fans are usually not attached to the university in any way other than the Wal-Mart shirt they are wearing that bears the mascot's name.

I still wore the colors during my hiatus, I DVR'd the games, and I begged those that knew the score not to tell it to me until I could read it in the safety of my padded cell. I am usually more active during down times than good because it is during the down times that I need to post to release the stress that I am holding inside. It's just a game, but dammit, it seems like its more important than that. That fateful Wednesday night when the Shockers gave away a prize I hold most dearly (those that follow my comments know I could give a rat's azz about the STL Welfare Tourney), I was burned to the core. My stomach was in knots and I felt as though I just learned some terrible news from the doctor. I watched it all unfold in CKA and just knew around half-time that we were going to get reamed.

I know that I care too much, but that is how I am wired. When I step away (and it isn't too often) it is for my own good. It certainly isn't because I'm taking the easy way out. Well I guess it is an easier way in a sense, but I'm a very intense person and sometimes it's best if I just walk away. That game hit me harder than most. I would compare it to the NIU loss when the NCAA's were on the line and Ben Jacobson chucked up that double-pumped prayer and put the nails in our coffin. That one hurt me in a very similar way.

The Evansville's, the Northern Iowa's, the Indy State's, the Drake's... all they're good for is inflicting pain on the programs that actually have a chance to do something great. Such is life in the Valley... Aids-infected ankle-biters... *sigh*

How did you release your stress in the past when there wasn't such a thing as message boards?
