LOL - I for one think we should continue our series.

All I did was relay what I thought would be the thinking of the AD's office and Coach Mac when it comes to scheduling. Nothing more. Pretty much the same logic was posted on the MVC board about ongoing scheduling with other Valley teams.

    Lighten up.

They want to schedule non-conference victories, they won't play us.

We aren't leaving the valley. Won't happen. Roll out the red carpet for oral Roberts.

I would like to see the series continue even if Cu is in another league.

Absolutely no H/H in the same year, I'm 50-50 at best that a series will continue. They will have their hands full staying in the top half of the C7 that they won't want people also pointing to a WSU loss and saying they should have stayed in the Valley.

Not wanting to play them would be retarded. They are close, they are a rival, and they have been good for fifteen years. Just because they lucked into a conference we would love to be in doesn't mean we should go all Bill Self on the issue.

I don't think we'll be the ones getting to make the decision. HCGM likes the Tulsa series, I'm sure he'd like a CU one.

Agreed, mostly just responding to the OP. I'm sure HCGM wouldn't shy away from the series.

On the bright side, if they are going to continue playing anyone at all from the MVC....it will be us.

You can never play too many games against good teams in your area. Sadly, we don't have a lot of options. KU and KSU won't play us. I'm guessing the same could be said for 0U and OSU. We have Tulsa. We could probably set up something with ORU as well if we wanted. Mizzou isn't going to play us. I wish UMKC was better than they are. At least a top 200 team and they'd be worth playing more often. Arkansas isn't going to play us..... Who knows what CU would decide if this happens. They'll still need good OOC games if they're in the C7. They'd have a hard time finding a better program in the area that'll play them. I wouldn't expect teams to start looking at them differently until the C7 and CU proves where they stand nationally. There are those that doubt the C7 will be as strong as they think. Although if you look at what the C7 fans say, many seem to think they can rival just about anyone basketball conference from the start. I wouldn't be shocked to see them on the level of the A10 or a little better. Odds are, they'll be somewhere in between, but I think they'll be closer to the A10 than the B1G or ACC.

If CU leaves the MVC they won't be playing WSU (unless WSU goes to the abyss). You will see CU pick up a game each year against a MVC bottom feeder. Now their baseball team will probably want to continue to play WSU.

If we can get them on our schedule, we should play them. Quality opponents from quality conferences are hard to get. It might even open up opportunities for other schools in that conference. I wish we could get games with other past Valley opponents like SLU, Louisville, Memphis. CU may not feel they need to play us if that conference lives up to its potential, but there is no downside for us. And there is no reason for us to feel animosity towards them for leaving. Most people on this board would have favored WSU doing the same if we had the option..
