those teams came in wide-eyed, yet fully embraced the raucus scenery.. totally preparing them for ncaa post season rigors. i have no doubt, that was what prepared them for a tough as steel postseason run.

ironically enough, one day wichita state might do the same thing.. steel itself for a deep run after being lucky enough to compete in a place like koch arena.

I'm a slow learner. One thing about Wichita State is we love seeing good players and competitors come to town. What's not to like about a high level basketball game?

If we see a show on the level of Andrew Goudelock and similarly win the game, it will be the best of both worlds, I guess.

Side note: Goudelock is on the same D-League team as Toure Murry.

Detroit's problem is a porous defense. Also, in the Horizon they simply overwhelm teams with their athleticism. I don't think they can do that against a good Valley team like the Shockers. Drake, yes, WSU, no. it should be a fun game for all to watch, though. BTW, Detroit's RPI, currently about 70, will jump if they beat Valparaiso (20-6) on the road on Saturday, game on ESPN. Valpo won in Detroit 89-88, overcoming a 23 point second half deficit. Like I said, no "d" at UD.
