  • seriously there should be a limit on how times a ref can ref a 1 school games, cuz it seems like we get Higgins every game

    • We are a better team when EO gets to play.

If Carl hits his bunnies and his free throws, we get 90-something.

      Higgins is a jackass.

FVV......it's really hard to press with him, but he gets to the rim somehow.

The noisemeter was back and at axactly the right times.

      SWMO has some good youngsters.

The exchange of minutes between Lufile and White was..........interesting.

Without replay, I dunno if Cle hung on too long. Jans thought so. Still was a bullsh!t call. Personal, not business, in my view.

Substitutions were made more often. Waaay better.

I was pleasently surprised at a sellout.

Pretty emotional to see the "old guys" at halftime.

      • I wanted a "these refs suck" chant. We might as well realize we are going to get screwed by the refs if they have a chance. We are evil wichita state. Wsu just have to be better and not let the refs have the opportunity.

          In order:

Yes-and the FT trend is bothersome.

Maybe-but he's still the best official we ever see, and he puts up with so much more from Gregg than any other official it's not even funny. I THINK Gregg knows that Higgins is his best friend, but I'm not positive.

          Right on.

          Ok.

Yes, but they aren't as good as MSU fans think. There will be subtraction by addition, but they do have some nice pieces.

Agreed, but CJ REALLY gave us good minutes and a slight glimpse into his potential.

Cle was T'd up for showing up. If it's a 2 point game it's probably not called, but in a 25 point show some effing class. Cle could be the best player in the league but he's gotta stop that kind of crap. It was a fair call AND OUR ENTIRE TEAM SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY NOW!!! THIS ISN'T 3RD TIER JUCO BALL ANYMORE.

          Agreed.

So was I. Great showing by the student section.

Yep. Dave's been struggling and I was really happy to see him at the game. He's NOT an old man. I pray for his health. Disappointed Cliff wasn't there. Not sure there will be a chance to see all 5 together again. VERY disappointed Cliff wasn't there.

I understand crap like the goaltending call against SIU, but why do you think we didn't get a fair shake last night? Look, I'll jump on the refs anytime I believe it's warranted, but it's usually not, and certainly last night the game was called in a manner to benefit the larger more physical team. Like it or not, when you are boatracing someone, you aren't going to get 50/50 calls and be allowed to suplex the other team off the top rope onto a chair your manager throws in from the crowd.

+100. I would add the b&%ching about officiating in a thirty point blowout makes us look like....well....K-State fans.

That was a very nice pass. At the time, I said to myself, "Coach Marshall is going to like that play."

                • Didn't get to see the game last night but just finished wathing the replay. My observations:

EO played a lot of minutes. This is a good thing even if he's not scoring. We need his rebounding and defensive presence in there. Carl at the 4 gives us the scoring punch down low even if he was missing some bunnies tonight.

I liked seeing CJ get a lot of minutes. He's a pretty good post passer. He took Jake's minutes last night, I think that's ok.

The starting lineup was a good one, hope we keep that going. We're better having Early come off the bench as the shot in the arm.

Wiggins and Cotton played balanced minutes. Another good thing, hope this continues.

As many have mentioned, FVV played equal minutes to Armstead. He was in there in crunch time and makes better decisions with the ball. He's got a very high ceiling.

Overall, a lot of guys saw the floor, which is what we need. Jake was the odd man out but made the most of his time in the 2nd half. It seems like he's found his niche with the long 2 point jump shot.

MSU missed a lot of wide open 3 pointers. If they make those, this could have been a closer game. Normally, it's the Shox missing those shots. Glad to get that monkey off our back. Keep it up.

                  • Cle's first foul was crap. That's the one where Marshall stuck out his foot and Cle tripped over it and Cle was called for the foul and Marshall got 3 free throws. The other call I thought was wrong was the offensive goal tending call on Cle. The replay clearly showed that the ball was not on the rim and it was a good put back. That's 5 points the refs cost us. In this game it really didn't matter, but the screw up at the end of the SIU game certainly did. Other than a couple of questionable (at least in my mind) charge calls on us (and that happens in every game for every team) I didn't see anything to really complain about. Refs are human and the game is moving so fast at times the calls are a gut reaction -- some right and some wrong. It's the game and we all need to learn to live with it. So I try very hard to not complain (at least loudly) about the officiating.

                    • Congratulations on the win. We were brutal tonight. Slowly reverting back to what we were in December.

I'd wish you luck the rest of the way but I'd only half mean it. I don't want to see your program TOO successful.

Anyhow looking forward to baseball. That's the sport that truly matters...amiright?

                      • Don't remember the first Higgins call that pizzed me off, but it was on the north end prior to the offensive goaltend call (which was his as well). Woulda liked to have seen the replay of the rimhang T and the offensive goaltend, but we are too politically correct to replay them.

                        • All in all, was a pretty good evening. Went to Los Coco's for an early dinner and watched the last ten minutes of the Oklahoma game, then to the Roundhouse, then swung by Little Bear's in Andale for a lil karaoke on the way home, where we also got to cheer Illinois State to victory.

You weren't brutal, you were outmanned, plain and simple. You guys do have some nice pieces going forward, and DO NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT GETTING RID OF LUSK. He's doing a very good job with what he has to work with.

Please feel free to take out Indiana State.

Because I have a long memory. When it matters Wsu gets screwed by the refs.

                              • Marshall has toned down his sideline antics a bunch from a couple years ago. However, officials have long memories as well.
