I still stand by what I was saying on here. Giving Fred more minutes has helped. So has MA not trying to play hero and playing within the flow of the offense. He's stopped forcing so many shots. We've all said when he plays under control and isn't looking to do everything himself he's a great asset to the team. I'm guessing 3G talked to him about forcing so much crap and trusting his teammates more and the results have been very good. But so has the play of FVV.

Cold, I think you need to get off Jake White's case. The defense he played yesterday on Minnerath, as noted in other threads here, was exceptional. Calling out others for doing the same exact thing you have done with Jake, no matter how you try to excuse yourself, makes you look like a hypocrite.

I think most all of us were down any one of a number of players during the 3 game losing streak. The guys got it figured out, they got the bad stretch behind them, our leaders are stronger and we're playing better. That includes ALL the team, not the ones any of us here would like to pick and choose as our targets.

I'm absolutely amazed at how people will come out of the woodwork to defend a non-factor like Jake White, yet only a few weeks ago there was a mob ready with pitchforks in hand to yank Armstud out of his dorm and behead him. I remember only one person that night standing up to defend him. It makes me sick to my stomach. At this point I could care less if White plays another game as a Shocker, but remove Armstud from the roster and we are staring the NIT straight in the face. What a weird group of individuals. Show respect to those who deserve it.

And trust me, I haven't even begun to be disrespectful of Jake White yet. If I really made my case for his contributions you would probably start to cry. Jake White is hardly in my thoughts. When he starts producing I might take notice. At this point, I think he would be happier on somebody else's roster. We just have too much firepower coming in next year. His athletic limitations are going to be glaring...

Ummm.... even hinting about HCGM's recruiting prowess should be grounds for a 24/hr ban. Not everybody is going to pan out in D1 ball. HCGM's ability to put "players" on the floor is indisputable. Mr. White has EVERYTHING at his disposal to become the best he can be.

Jake White, Nick Minnerath.. both relative unknowns out of HS. One goes to powerhouse Wichita State, one goes to low-major Detroit. One becomes a monster, one is still trying to find his way. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck.

By your own definition, if we were to evaluate players based on their merits through their sophomore year, and this doesn't even consider each individual situation, EO shouldn't even have sniffed a scholarship and should have been booted off the team 2 years ago.

I think you're personally attacking Jake White more than anybody has ever done so with Armstead. I think you're teetering on that very fine line for which you complained about when bumping this thread.

Cold has a point – Criticism of MA’s performance was criminal when one looked at his total contribution (I continue to believe that he is upgrade from last year when you look at total contribution / Joe was unbelievable on offense, but couldn’t guard well and he never faced the kind of pressing teams that MA has made fools of).

Criticism of Jake White is warranted if you expect sophomores to be significant contributors (I always thought he needed to redshirt last year so I give him a pass)

With the above said, Jake had his best five minutes as a Shocker in the BB game (when he came in and stayed in 34's grill on every catch). Until Saturday, his actual impact to Shockers winning games had been negligible.
