the "message" i was referring to was meant to be a temporary one - that being play
hard or sit down. noone can tell me that this team hasn't had a letdown in terms of
effort. we have some VERY talented players but if they are standing around they are
NOT that good. i only sited JW as an example of one i believe DOES give the effort.
i also like orupe, hall and cotton in that regard. maybe not our best offensive players
BUT i dont see a falloff in their levels of effort. by starting them my hope would be to
send a message to the others and get them playing all out , as well

More Jake White is not the answer to our problems.

Armstead has started every one of our games this year (even with the technicals). That means he is doing what the coach is wanting him to do (or at least more than his replacement).

We pay HCGM almost 1.6 million a year to put the best players on the floor and make basketball decisions in our best interest. Considering he was in the running for national coach of the year only a week ago, I think he has earned a reprieve from all the second-guessing.

          1) hustling 100% ? 2) i believe the knicks won it all the year stallworth was voted best
6th man and started at center for reed vs chamberlin 3) your right JW isn't the answer as
a full time starter but might be as a messenger to light a fire under some others 4) hope
MA returns to form soon....he is capable but needs to elevate his game or sit 5) dont like
to second guess coaches, especially GM, but sometimes messages have to be sent to
          certain players to motivate them

idk how many times armstead passed it to hall last game but didn't hall have 20 points? I don't think the inside thing is the issue

I was on the Malcolm train until now. Fred's willingness and ability to penetrate and dish against the zone is the best thing we've got going. He needs to prove that he can do it consistently against stronger competition but I don't think anyone is doubting his ability. Give him a chance and let's see if we can get a couple of big road wins starting at Illinois State this weekend.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

I really like Fred and Malcolm on the floor at the same time.

Fred was great. I don't care who starts. I just want to win and I don't think that Malcolm or Fred care who starts either. If Fred plays and shoots like he did tonight, he'll play plenty of minutes during the second half when it matters.

                    • There are just so many apologies that need to be given to Malcolm Armstead from those that really disparaged him hard in here... do the right thing.

He continues to win big games for us - just like he has all year. He's not perfect, but as I've said before, without him we wouldn't be sniffing the kind of record/rpi we have right now. I am simply amazed how few defend this man on here. Can you imagine what it would be like for him to read all this garbage after all he's done for us?

                      • Malcolm was the man last night. No doubt about it. Outstanding game Malcolm. His end game assist to Cle was outstanding.

                        • Marcus with some clutch threes. He did play very well. Somebody tell him that mustard cures cramps. I'm not kidding. Down a teaspoon of mustard or one of those packets you get from a fast food restaurant and your cramp will go away in a few minutes.

Now mustard is one thing Mal seems to have in surplus. He has responded to 3G reigning in some of his antics magnficently and has redirected the that energy very, very well indeed.

Mal has had his ups and owns, as have most the guys on the team, but the only major negative I have with Mal is that we only had him leading the team for one year.

It's been a real blast. Let's hope there is much more to go.

                            • Seems to me that all of our point guards at various times, versus various team defenses, and versus various opposing players, have been great, average, and let's say below average. And that actually holds for every player on the team.

So I'm going to go with whomever 3G puts on the court and hope for the best. His BB IQ is one hell of a lot higher than mine, and it's his job on the line (well not really) and I'm certainly glad it's not mine.
