new poster and new perspective. guards, esp PG's, are the spark plugs that get the
offense going. when those guards are standing and dribbling 40 ft from the hoop the
offense is in idle mode and the tempo stagnant. i think both MA & DW have been
poor plugs and the offense has stalled. we dont push the ball up court enough and our
guards are dribbling way too much which causes everyone else to stand around.
especially vs zones we have to quickly reverse the ball around the perimeter looking for
players MOVING to create shots for themselves. pass and screen pass and screen. move,
move, move. stand around until 7 secs are left and you will have alot of bad shots.
sub for ANY guards that over dribble. all shooters shoot better when in rythem and our
guards are taking everyone out of theirs. in addition, a stagnant offense/tempo can
carry over to the defensive side as players get used to a slower tempo and visa versa.
get out of scripted sub patterns and sub for any inactive player immediately !

Malcolm is a mixed bag for me. He has a lot of potential to be great for this team when he has his head screwed on right.

His decision making is suspect on both ends of the court. Namely leaving guys who are 45+% 3 point shooters to double down on a post man who just wants to pass to wide open shooters. Surely we give the players scouting reports?

There is a lot of work to be done by all the players. I hope they band together and fight like hell the rest of the season. I just want to see them play smarter and harder and the rest will take care of itself.

            Edit:typo

i'll take whites hustle, desire and willingness to play the role assigned to him any
day over MA. its NOT white who stands out there and dribbles the shot clock away.
if you watch, he is the one constantly setting screens for the others and hitting the
boards trying to rebound everyone elses misses.

I'd like to see them push it up the court on made baskets too. If nothing is there...just reset. But this crossing half court with 26 seconds on the shot clock each time is really starting to piss me off.

                    Omg....

You have very little understanding of what is going on. What you just said would have us at about 7th place in the Valley right now.

I think you need a few more test runs before you taxi down the runway again. I certify you not ready for solo flight.

It could be the that other players are standing around because the guards are dribbling too much. Or it could be that the guards are dribbling to much because the other players are standing around.

what is there about hustle, desire, willingness to play your role, screening and
rebounding that is so counterproductive ?

                          Everybody on our team hustles.

                          Role-players don't win championships.

More Jake White is not the answer to our problems.

Armstead has started every one of our games this year (even with the technicals). That means he is doing what the coach is wanting him to do (or at least more than his replacement).

We pay HCGM almost 1.6 million a year to put the best players on the floor and make basketball decisions in our best interest. Considering he was in the running for national coach of the year only a week ago, I think he has earned a reprieve from all the second-guessing.

you have not grasped my meaning. the premise was to play white or ANY player over
another that isn't playing with a high level of energy to send a MESSAGE to get the
entire team playing at a higher energy level for 40 minutes. this TEAM has not played
at the same energy level the past three games and i sincerely believe the coach HAS to
send his players a MESSAGE that everyone has to play with intensity for 40 minutes.
this team plays VERY WELL in spurts when they want. when certain players start
resting on the court they need to come out. i only named white as an example of
a player that seems to work his tail off and deserved a start to send a MESSAGE - not
because he is the most talented AND to get the others to respond to that message

I have a couple of questions:

                              1) Is that poetry you are writing? If it is, it doesn't rhyme very well.
                              2) Are you related to Trueshock?

I think a lot of the problems cropping up are related to the fact that most of these guys have only been playing with Hall for half a season. Before Hall went down, Early was coming off the bench as an overqualified sixth man. He could play like a star while Hall rested and be the number 2 option while they played together. After Hall went down, Early kept playing like a star for 30 minutes a game. Armstead and Williams had to step up and be options 2A and 2B on offense. Now, Hall and Early should be options 1A and 1B on offense and Armstead and Williams should be 3A and 3B. They are still taking shots like they are 2A and 2B. Now, we could either yank people's minutes around and start Van Vleet and play White more to send a message or we could give the starters more time to figure it out. I see more upside with letting the starters figure out how to play together.
