3G prolly had to bite his tongue to bleeding not to complain about the ref choosing to decide the game with a whistle rather than the players on the court.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
I can see the Charge/No Charge thing. That is a hard call to make with 40 minutes left in the game. But the travel was painfully obvious. The goaltend was as well. If the refs weren't 0/3 they were 0/2.
But what I posted about 2 seconds after it happened is still true -- you can't put the game in the hands of Valley refs if you want to win. There is a proven history that should no longer surprise anyone in Black and Gold that says you have to be 3+ points better. Putting it in the hands of the refs means you are as good as dead and thats what our boys did last night.
Now please excuse me, I'm going to go gag myself for saying that.
Agree 100%. The travel was obvious, so was the non-goaltend. We screwed up the game ourselves and have no room really blaming the officials. I mean, we WERE up by a billion points at one point and blew it.

The players on the court did decide it. 1-10 SIU went on a 43-19 run at one point. I think our players decided it to the worst of their abilities.
My BA was .02 when I left the restaurant. Now that I'm home, I think I'm going to pop the cork on a Cabernet and push that number to around the .12 neighborhood.
I am not going to get sucked into what is sure to be a quagmire of problems around here, and in my state I have no strength for it, but does any one know if it was Randall or Stuart that made that goaltending call.
I PROMISE you Higgins is chewing their ass right now.
We just dropped 12 points in the RPI (38 now) and our SOS is barely hanging in the double digits range (96). In a week and-a-half we go from media darlings to ugly ducklings and bubble team.
I'm still trying to take the high road as I've mentioned before I thought we'd only win 17 to 20 games. I keep telling myself everything is gravy from here on out, but I think GM's pre-season goal of winning just over 20 games and making a decent run in the NIT is looking more and more realistic.
