To be fair, Turgeon left after a season that seems eerily similar to this.

Marshall has to wear this one. Why did EO, who had his best game of his career against SIU play only eight minutes? Why did he stay with Armstead the way he's been playing when VanVleet is showing the ability to beat their defense?
I understand keeping Williams in since he was our leading scorer, but it should have been FVV, DW or TC, NW, CH and EO down the stretch. This game reminded me of Turgeon's upperclassman-loyalty-to-a-fault.
There will be no more national COY talk that includes Marshall, sans an unlikely run to the Final Four.

Word up. I don't get why MA was there especially after the turnover and another almost turnover when it was FVV that got us back in the game.

I think the only way we have a shot at an at-large now is to win every single game left on the schedule. That's the problem with playing in the MVC when it's weak. A few stumbles and you're screwed. A big stumble like losing to a (now) 2-10 conference team and you're really, really screwed.

I try to stay away from the board for 3 days or so after a loss because of some of the posts. I've had a lot more time on my hands lately.

Just watched the final play again. There was no charge, imo, but there was a travel (SIU guy took 3 steps) and I don't believe it was a goaltend. Ball hadn't started down yet.

I can see the Charge/No Charge thing. That is a hard call to make with 40 minutes left in the game. But the travel was painfully obvious. The goaltend was as well. If the refs weren't 0/3 they were 0/2.

But what I posted about 2 seconds after it happened is still true -- you can't put the game in the hands of Valley refs if you want to win. There is a proven history that should no longer surprise anyone in Black and Gold that says you have to be 3+ points better. Putting it in the hands of the refs means you are as good as dead and thats what our boys did last night.

Now please excuse me, I'm going to go gag myself for saying that.

I don't want to hear about poll rankings ever again this year. I don't want to see anymore discussions about KU playing WSU. I shouldn't see anyone discuss NCAA seeding in the 8 or better range. The regular MVC championship is officially over. I don't want to see anyone bitching about Detroit in the bracketbuster. In fact, we should be happy about that team coming in as it will be important top 100 win if we have any chance of getting into the dance.

This team freaking SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS and SUCKS some more at offense. We're essentially playing 3 on 5 out there. No way should we lose to an overmatched and undersized last place MVC team anywhere.

Oh well, we better get used to this loss because we got at least 3 more coming (@CU, @ISU b and ISU r) if not more. NIT here we come.

actually, in 04-05, the shockers stared 17-3 and finished something like 3-9 or whatever the hell it was (last second vanderbilt). this reminds me of that year, not 06-07.

This is very much a captain obvious statement here but f' it buzz, I'm going to say it anyways.

If we can't play better then we have this last week, we won't win another game. (I'm not even talking in the John Madden sense of we won't win any games if we don't outscore the opponent. I mean if we continue to do all the stupid things we are doing we won't ever have a chance to outscore the opponent.)
