  • If we got the dream scenario: home and home every other year with KSU and KU, I predict after ten years we would have won 6 out of 10 games in Wichita against KU and 1 or 2 out of 10 in Lawrence. Against KSU it would be 8 out of 10 in Wichita and 6 out of 10 in Manhattan. Ideally we could schedule one at home and one on the road each year. Both KU and KSU would get a nice RPI boost while we would get a nice recruiting, PR, scheduling, sales, bragging boost. The Shocker Nation would be very happy and KU would learn to enjoy the yearly series. Who gives a **** what KSU thinks. They will take their beatdown and like it.

    • I wonder how Shocker3 will vote.

      • And as we speak, the "flagship" institution is preparing to one-up Wichita State yet again. This time by losing their FOURTH consecutive game, thereby surpassing our three game streak.

        • This is the first time ever that I will be rooting for them to surpass WSU's record.

          • I just don't understand why some Shocker fans object to a bill that has the State of Kansas telling two of its schools to play another one of its schools. Someone explain to me again what is wrong with that, keeping in mind it would put WSU's scheduling difficulties to bed.

            • For me, I just don't think government should get involved.

Why shouldn't the State say what their schools should do?

For years I have thought as pin does. But many of my fellow WheatShocker fans have expressed a convincing argument in favor of the government making this happen. I find myself being swayed.

Because we need less government interference, not government dictating to schools who they will play in basketball. If the state government has it hand in on such unimportant things like basketball schedules, what will be next?

A start would be contacting your Representative and Senator and let them know your support. Give them reasons for supporting the bill.

Good chance they will stay out of being a bad loss for a while.
