What is the seeding tie break for the tourney after the heads-up record? Is it still that formula where the team that has beat stronger teams gets the tie break?

Just wondering if WSU and CU won out and CU won the rematch who currently holds the tie break. In the above system CU would as a win at EU would count for more than a win at DU.

A couple years back the MVC changed the secondary tie-break to out of conference strength of schedule. RPI Forecast predicts our OOC SOS at #70 and CU's at #155, so we ought to hold the tie-break in case we split with them head to head.

Cu will get a boost from the BB game as they will more than likely play a team with a better rpi than WSU. But that shouldn't shift the above numbers (#70 vs. #155) enough to move Cu ahead of WSU.

Especially since creighton will lose in the bb. That probably won't help their rpi.

Just looking at the numbers here. Creighton hasn't beat anybody better than like #50.

If they draw a top 50 rpi team, I don't have much reason to believe they will win it. Especially with a loss to d- education who proceeded to lose to the what 4-15 bears (counting d1 wins only)

I am going to answer what I think you are asking.

The Out Of Conference RPI comes into play if two teams have the same Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Records. For example, if both Creighton (CU) and Wichita State (WSU) win the rest of their games going into the last game at CU. If CU wins that game both WSU and CU will have MVC Records of 16-2. The winner of the Valley (MVC) and Number 1 seed for the MVC Tourney will be the team with the better Out Of Conference RPI. This is currently WSU. However, if teams we have played start losing (i.e. VCU going 0-2 this week) this would be bad for our Out Of Conference RPI and thus CU could leap ahead of us. Also, the Bracket Buster game (which is Out of Conference) CU will get a better RPI game then WSU will.

The RPI that is used in the tie breaker does not include any games played between teams in the Missouri Valley Conference. You are correct both CU and WSU do play the same teams in the MVC. However, this is irrelevant in the discussion of the MVC tie breaker.

The tie-breakers only matter for seeding in the tourney. Teams with identical records are co-champions.
