Last time FSF was at a Creighton game in a black-out, if I recall, we were 0-5 in the Valley but beat them to get on track for a 5th place finish in the Valley. I was energized to the max., got home to no electric juice at my abode which may have been the aftermath of all the excitement that game brought us all in Shocker Nation. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

So not only is this a blackout and on ESPN2, I want history of that fine day described above to repeat itself except the 'no power at home syndrome.' So get your lucky black garb all set out for the elation tomorrow at 3pm. See many of you thar and I want the noise decible levels 'off the meter charts' because we are on the tube for folk hither, yonder, and far, far, away to scrutinize Shocker hoops baybay!!! The Beast is back, our Beast is back!!! Can ya dig it? Grooovy graaaavy!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Shox over Creighton. 75-69. We have much more at stake this year. And this game has been prepped for for more than one week by the Shox. This is the one that matters, and they know it.

Dumb fouls drive me nuts. When you are beat, you are beat. Don't foul. Get better next time.

Just a footnote, which is unrelated to Fever's fine post. Next year, Nick Wiggins is gonna be one tough dude. When he starts dribble penetrating effectively, which is coupled with his outside shot, look out.
Hold on to the ball :banghead:guys! otherwise just walk it up without any fast breaks(unless we are wide open). Better for us to get a shot off than wasting energy running up and down the court continually for nothing.

          I'll second that one.

Wiggy and Williams can give them that.

Here's a thought, put Wiggy in against Dougie when resting a starter. Perhaps he will learn to step up his defense. He is certainly athletic enough and can score in a pinch.

Referees are not supposed to show favoritism regardless of where they are. It is better to win outright than by default anyway. I want the Shockers to win outright and not just luck out. To imply that bad calls always have the Shockers name written on them is nothing but supersticious paranoia.

All I know is I am super fired up for this game and I will bringing my A game to the roundhouse. Vocal exercises will start at 1:45. Gotta get those vocal cords loose, don't want to risk going hoarse by halftime.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Well, this is one way to boost a post count.

He did make a few good points. I still don't lile his stories but there were some things to think about.

What a complex that fanbase has. I really love it. It's like they're too good to admit they have a rivalry with us or something. It's the strangest, most egotistical logic I've ever seen from a college basketball fanbase. The irony is that is who they always talk about. There's always posters there saying they'd cheer any Valley team but WSU. Or I hate them, etc, etc.

Their own player even says it's a game "Creighton fans have circled on their calendars"... http://www.kansas.com/2013/01/17/264...as-become.html

Even their own beat writers ask McDermott about the rivalry in the video at the bottom of their own newspaper website... http://www.omaha.com/article/2013011...ing-early-time

                            But, no, not a rivalry.

They are a STRANGE breed, in complete denial, to say the least.
                            Deuces Valley.
                            ... No really, deuces.

Drink plenty of water, it is a good way to keep from going hoarse.

                              • I love this quote from Nate Funk in the January 18 Omaha World Herald:

Funk, who scored 35 points in a 2005 win at Wichita, called Koch his favorite road venue in the league.

Attending a game there, he said, should be on the bucket list of any true college basketball fan.

Here is what Coach McDermott said:

McDermott is 3-4 in Wichita, including 1-1 as Creighton's coach. Taking a team into Koch Arena, he said, is as much fun as it is challenging.
“These are the top of environments that players play for and for what coaches coach for,” he said. “This is what college basketball is all about.”

And here is what Cu Athletic Director Bruce Rasmussen said in the article:

“The atmosphere there is the best in our league and as good as anywhere around,” Rasmussen said. “I've come out of there a lot of times and my ears have been ringing.”
