  • Typical Evansville ugly. Too many turnovers keep it close and then we let the refs be a factor. Hope we get Carl back and I hope we start learning how to handle the ball better. Unfortunate that we won't be ranked going into the CU game but big picture we need to clean some things up and if this helps motivate that then that will be good. I've seen White make a 3 pointer but seriously I'm not sure if its been this season.

It very well might be. David Hall worked a game in Albuquerque late last night.

      • Too many turnovers, that's on us!

That's a jump ball with DW and Colt, from kids league, to the Y, to the NBA!

The world isn't likely over, but that loss hurts me deep :(
"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

        • we should've let the clock wind down and take a good last second shot for the win. Someone who can hit threes should've been taking that shot.

          • Complete fail all around.

Let the effing retard MVC crowd have their jollies, now.

That explains it then, cause no other explanation can be offered.

              • Good lord how long are they going to play "Tonight's gonna be a good night" in that stadium?

Have you seen some of our last second situations our guards create. I have no problem with that shot. At least we got one.

                  • Bottom line, we played badly. We are now a month, if not two, from getting back in the rankings.

vs. Illinois State is a must win. Lose, and there goes your nice at-large bid.

Gregg should make the players run a mile of sprints for each turnover they had.

5 each for Malcolm Armstead and Williams.
                    4 for Early
                    3 for Cotton
1 for Orukpe, Lufile, White, Van Vleet, and Wiggins.

This is not acceptable. We shot almost 10% better than them from the field and 20% better from the line. We outrebounded them by 14. But we fouled them 24 times (to their 14), and turned the ball over 22 times.

You CANNOT give shitty teams a chance to beat you. Because they will beat you, and they revel in it. They love nothing more than ruining the aspirations of other teams because they have none of their own. This lose to Evansville will decimate our RPI. We just had our one hiccup, and we walk a razor's edge from here on. We will not get another loss. If we are 26-4 with losses to Creighton and one other team, we are probably going to have a hard time getting in to the tournament. The Valley is that bad.

vs Evansville is beyond a must win. It is a must crush. We are tied with them now, and they may take the 3rd spot if we fall to Creighton.

                    • It's a long seson and this is just one game. I remember how completely devastated everyone was after the Creighton home-loss last year.

                      • Good thing ref's can't change a game. We had a chance to win, but Early on the bench most of the first half hurt us as much as the turn overs.

Only problem is that Jake White is a 10% 3 point shooter.

The problem is that our worst 3PT shooter took it. Jake White should not be shooting 3s. I repeat, Jake White should not be shooting 3s. He is at 10.5% percent for the season... why did he get that last shot? He shouldn't be shooting 3s at any point of the game (I'd honestly rather have Lufile shooting 3s, because at this point him attempting that shot is just a turnover), let alone at the most crucial point.

                            • My Aunt Gertrude is blind in one eye and sees like a bat out of the other. Nuff said other than most all the calls and breaks went their way IMO. Colt was solid in all facets. Evansville forced us into way too much 1 on 1 play which did not work for us. We had no handles tonight with a whopping 22 turnovers. Our guards really turned it over. We really outrebounded them by around 15 which kept us in it until very late in the game. We can't expect to win with 22 turnovers and that is our gig to correct.

Watch it again. Can you show me who wanted the ball besides Jake?
