Where do WSU basketball players, or any athletes, eat at during the school year? I am asking because I was reading a story about Notre Dame football before Brian Kelly arrived and it said that they had no special dining facilities for their athletes. This was causing most players on average to lose between 10-15 pounds a season, and Lineman upwards of 30 pounds. That's unacceptable. As a smaller athlete in high school I needed to maintain my weight of roughly 168 pounds for me to even feel as if I could hold my own defensively, blocking out, and driving the ball strong. I had many friends on the team go from 205 to 190 in a season 195-180. It's incredible how much weight an athlete can lose if not properly nourished, and it is hard to stay nourished with a busy schedule. There can be a significant drop in performance - or increase- depending on the weight and the specifics of the player.
My question is, what resources do the basketball players have here, and is it something they monitor?
