We've been running into a wall the last three games. It's time for CH to come back. That said if you had offered me 6-1 when CH went down I would have taken it in a heartbeat. Hope he does make it back Wednesday and he can breathe fire into the team.

We definitely need Carl back and I can't wait til he does. However, our wall the last couple of games have been created by ourselves, not the lack of Carl. Namely in the form of turnovers. SIU has 20+ points off turnovers the other night and was the only reason why the game was close. Same thing tonight. 20+ turnovers creating a lot of EU points. If that doesn't happen, it's another double-digit road win. Our offense and rebounding hasn't been the problem lately.

Even though Carl is not a ball handler, I do believe our turnovers will go down with a most reliable source to feed the ball into. We have been trying to "create" a little too much. Of course, getting Ron Baker back in a few weeks will also help a bunch.

Seriously, the key is indeed the level of Hall's performance when he gets back, just as 1972 says. The reason Hall is one of the league's best isn't because of the name on his jersey, it's his combination of talent, skill, and intensity.

Still, if the intensity is there -- and it will be -- even if his talent and skill can't fully manifest themselves because of his injury, he'll still help the cause with his leadership on the floor and by playing defense and eating up minutes that may be starting to wear on his teammates a little. He just needs to avoid trying to do more than he's ready for, because that's when you get in trouble: when you try to make plays that aren't within your capabilities. Better to be seated and cheering than out there trying to make plays he could make when healthy, but that he messes up because he isn't back ready to make them yet.

yes, I was wondering where Ron Baker would fit in when he returned. I think that his ability to handle the ball is key for him and I still think that he is a better shooter than he's showed us this year during games.

Ron started out fast and then started to fade before his injury. In hind sight could his injury before he had to sit have hampered his shooting by not being able to get the power for his jump shot. This could explain why he was off at the end. His ball handling and D is what kept him in the lineup in my opinion and he will be a welcome addition when he returns.

Didn't coach say Baker was the best defender on the team? I think we need another ball-handler and shooter, and I hope Baker returns healthy and ready to play at a high level.

I thought that was Cotton's or Wessel's role? I guess he has a couple of defensive specialists.

I think that he said earlier this year (november?) that Cotton and Baker were lock down defenders and Wessell could be or will be.

My guess is that Trop will accompany Carl into the Doctor's office to hear the results 1st hand and probably report before they are out the door. We always depend on you Trop. :o)

No I can't make it, but here is Gregg talking about it at the 59 minute mark. If you don't want to listen, the appointment is sometime this afternoon. Gregg also answers a couple of other questions.
