Just as long as WSU wins every one of them.

It will be different at SIU. SIU is much better known and will generate media excitement and get on the selection committee's radar easier than SWOMO.

Also at SIU, if he does well, they will pay him better than SWOMO ever would/could have.

At a certain point these baseless claims become comical.

I like SIUC. I like Carbondale. I like Barry Hinson and I have had a longstanding relationship with their AD Mario Moccia. He is a really good friend. So don't misconstrue what I am going to say next.

But Missouri State is in a different galaxy than them. Look at the basketball and football facilities. Look at the respective communities. Look at the metro areas. Look at the fact that Hinson FAILED with a capital F in Springfield and then was hired at SIUC after 5 years of being basically a traveling secretary. Yes he was the George Constanza of the Kansas Jayhawks. Now I love the man, so don't interpret that as an unfair insult. I have kidded around with Coach many times and would say it directly to him.

The notion that we didn't get in the tournaments under Hinson those few years because it is some sort of popularity contest is terribly misguided. Taking an impartial look we didn't deserve to be there. We needed one more win perhaps 2-3 times and didn't get that. We wouldn't have gotten to the Dance in 2006 if it said KENTUCKY acrossed our chests. We didn't have the wins. Bottom line. My heart bled for Barry. I am not ashamed to admit that I shed tears when we had to let him go. It was very tough. But if you were to corner him or Angie Hinson and ask "which is the better job SIUC or Missouri State." Barry is going to tell you the truth. And it's us.

Now you all got me all wound up! Haha. I'd love to stay and chat but I got a ballgame to go watch. Take it easy!

You're right my claims are baseless. And I agree that Missouri State's in a different galaxy based on their 0 NCAA appearances this last decade versus SIU's 2 Sweet Sixteen appearances and 5 or 6 NCAA appearances. How could the selection committee POSSIBLY have SIU in their recent memory banks but not have the epic MSU juggernaut subconsciously ranked magnitudes higher than SIU?

There IS comedy in this thread though.

Oh and how come you wouldn't answer the question about how many points represent a beat down? I'm still waiting.

yeah, right. no siu trying to build a program self-serving there.

totally irresponsible to plant a seed like that in a young mans mind, at the least- especially one that isn't ready for the nba right now.

even suellentrop, bcs honk, shocker wonk, knows better than that. lol

I'm glad 'ol Lusky keeps dropping by. If he didn't I would know that following someone on twitter counts as a longstanding relationship. I'm think I'm going to go follow Kathy Ireland and Sandra Bullock now . . .
